Continue to shave hair or not?

im 34 now and have had alopecia areata for most of my adult years, i just use to shave it all off. ive had injections in my eye brows, scalp. and for the most part its been a slow growing process. i havnt had any injections for almost 2 years now, after my eye brows grew back the doctor suggested i take a break from them. ive noticed now since ive not shaved my hair for 2 months, that alot of soft hair is growing where i was once bald. should i give this a chance to grow or can i just shave it off, ive never given it a chance before and its the first time ive noticed that hair is growing. thanks matt

Your choice. I've let mine out a few times. The first time I ended up with the hair, albeit in the form of black & white spots...and people felt compelled to point out the obvious comparison to a dalmation. Most of it fell out again. I let it grow out again at a later time but shaved with in a few days as it looked terrible. No regrets for letting it grow out despite the outcomes. Sometimes ya just gotta see what there is to see. These days, there's nothing left to grow out. Glad I took the chance when I had it..

Hi Matt! As Tony said, I think it's a personal preference...do you like yourself bald and want to continue to be bald - then shave it. I guess it's a lot different for guys...I shaved my head a few weeks ago, but wear a wig every day out in public/work. I just started having regrowth - confirmed by my derm. so I am going to let it grow and see what happens. But, I can still hide it under the wig. Maybe you can let it grow for a few days and see how patchy it might look.

i shaved mine off twice now but have left it to grow a bit and it seems a little thicker on the top of my head so leavin it another we while, may take it off again as ive heard that shavin it off a few times can help it come bak thicker n darker as mine is still white, have u heard of this,
