Cortizone shots

Went to the dermatologist today,and got what seemed to be about a million shots in the head. Last month I did prednisone and noticably lost more hair, but doc said that even though I lost more hair, there was new hair growing in some of the bald patches. The shots were our next course of action, but they are very painful to do all over the head. Does anyone have experience with these shots working?
