Hello,

I suffer from medical induced partial alopecia, and I have been wearing wigs full time for three years. To date, I've never had a problem with anyone questioning my hair or being rude about it. However, later this week I am obligated to attend a social function with my husband, and the hostess is.. well, let's just say, beyond rude and tactless. Twice I have thought she was going to say something about my hair publically, as I have reason to believe (from her trying to touch my 'hair' in the past) that she thinks I 'wear hair'. I prefer to keep that my business, and not 'share' with others, you know what I mean? I wear lace wigs, so they are fairly realistic, but of course no wig is 'perfect'.

I was wondering how to you react to people who seem to have an interest in figuring out your head, so to speak, and think nothing of pointing it out to others.

Advice?

Thank you :)

At the end of the day you get to decided what and who you share your business with. For those that are 'nosy' and less respectful...try 'Please respect my privacy'....

Hello. I am Southpaw. Joined site yesterday. I also wear wigs and keep them short and natural looking. Yes, people (women) can be mean. From experience and what my mom told me that it is just not the hair but the fact that you look good. I think for alopecia folks like us that wear wigs and or otherwise could be a little paranoid? It depends on the individual that I share I am wearing a wig. In your case keep her guessing..... for people like her I will turn it around and change subject like is that your real hair color....especially when you k.ow it isn't....Lol......on the other hand, I get a lot of compliments and have learned to just say thank you. As I am 50 + I just don't give a ...........! DO U!
