I'm not looking for a solution that will 'cure' my alopecia as such, but alopecia has made me realise that I really should take care of my general health and wellbeing - and I'm looking into ways in which diet could help - and wondered whether anybody had any useful tips or pointers or personal experiences to share?
I don't think I'll ever be a total health freak/stick to a very rigid diet. I enjoy food, and the social element of food, and believe that indulging every now and then is good for the soul! But a few reasonable/manageable tweaks and changes are probably long overdue!
My alopecia is much worse when I get run down, so I'd like to boost my immune system to prevent getting unwell as much - especially with winter coming.
Also, alopecia does have a tendency to make you feel a bit rubbish and miserable at times... I'm hoping perhaps by being generally healthier, less stressed, having more energy, exercising more, and feeling more motivated, I could combat this.
Does anybody have any tips/things they've tried that really helped, etc?
I can't eat much fruit as my gut's over sensitive to fructose - any alternatives?
I'm interested in supplements too, but will only take things that don't have too many dodgy side-effects. I'm not interested in expensive drugs being touted as 'miracle cures', or only available online etc!
Any thoughts? Thanks x
