I suffered with alopecia in 2011. I was overweight and was dealing with depression severly. I changed my diet and began eating clean. I dranked lots of water daily and I began exercising. In only 4 months I'd lost 51lbs and had 4 months of new growth. I'm not sure if this will happen for anyone else, I just wanted to share my journey and my story.
Sincerely,
Theresa Spiller

what is eating clean??? no red meats, all green vegs...you're not telling us too much. I suspect you eliminated all readmade meals or boxed meals, and fast foods... and sodas..uh???
Hello Arizimlev,
Eating clean is eating fresh/raw vegetables, nuts, fish, ground turkey, and chicken. I avoided all boxed and processed foods(man-made). I drink a gallon of water a day without fail and trained twice a day (4AM and 6PM) doing cardio and weights. My whole life, schedule, and attitude changed while adopting this rigorous program. It was hard and a lot of days I did not want to go but I did against my own feelings. I was allowed 1 cheat meal a week (which I enjoyed with my family over fajitas and a sweat dessert) and I enjoyed it but got back on my clean eating the very next day. I also took in supplements that I needed everyday like a multi vitamin, B-complex 100, calcium magnesium and others. It has made a difference in my body and my hair has completely recovered! I also wrote a blog entitled: FULL CIRCLE giving more details about what I did.
I have a similar situation. I got really into health and fitness and have been seeing significant regrowth. Not sure if there is a connection but it does have me a bit hopeful. I also drink Shakeology which is a Beachbody product and is one of the healthiest things you can eat/drink. I wonder if that could be helping me. I am sure being healthy and feeling your best can only help any medical situation, especially since alopecia is known to be stress related and exercise helps relieve stress and when u are working out and eating healthy and you look and feel good i believe you are overall less stressed.
Amkl...I know you're right! It is the only thing that has worked for me. Keeping my life stress-less as possible is the key. We can never really do away with stress but we can do something about the level of stress that plagues us. I have not tried shakeology but I might give it a try. I was offered an opportunity to be a sales rep for them. Well, continue to live healthy and stress free!
Thank you Itsmeehtalia! It has made a big difference in how I look and feel; and the feeling part is most important. Bless you on your journey of recovery too!
How long did it take for it to all grow back? I lost my eye brows too unfortunately. Did you loose hair anywhere else besides your scalp? Thanks for your help.
