Keratin.com has superb definitions for every aspect of all kinds of alopecias known.

You want to search in the Alopecia Areata Index, so just scroll down and click on the hyperlinked word "alopecia areata" and all the topics on alopecia areata will come up alphabetically for you in a directory called the Alopecia Areata Index.

It's encyclopedic and accurate information from Dr. Kevin McElwee.

Totalis means you lose head hair only. Universalis means you lose all hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, body hair...all of it.
