Hello I went to Dr. Whiting located in Dallas and results of my scalp biopsy showed minor miniaturization but no pattern. Dr Whiting also stated that he saw no signs of inflammation that he thought resembled alopecia areata. Could this be mpb even if my facial hair and body hair has thinned also? Also does alopecia areata cause significant hair miniaturization even to facial and body hair?

"he saw no signs of inflammation that he thought resembled alopecia areata."

Alopecia areata has no imflammation to it at all ..
other then that not sure on the rest just got started with this
Hi Yosimite, I have diffuse alopecia areata. No pattern...and falling out not just on my head, but everywhere. I believe miniaturization can be par for the course, since it's happening all over my body. The hair has gotten finer and lighter even on my head, legs, and everywhere.

From looking at your post it seems our cases are very similar, how were you diagnosed with diffuse alopecia?
