Hello AW!
I realized I had alopecia areata probably three months ago, I have one spot on my hairline on the left side of my head. However, I am shedding a great deal of hair from all over the scalp and my hair has lost it's texture and is dry and if the wind blows it goes everywhere.
I have recently noticed that even the hairs on my body are limp and shedding with ease. My arm hairs are much lighter and obviously thinner, and eyebrows are noticeably thinning as well.
I still have a head of hair that looks completely normal to the common observer and have been shedding since June. I have not had a formal diagnosis but the hairs are thinner at the root than at the tip, so I figure it has to be diffuse alopecia areata. Will I lose it all?
Thanks for any help and comfort.
James

Hi James, I am in the same position as you, although have been shedding for 2 yrs, itching and hair loss all over body. It sounds like diffuse aa, the doctor says its unpredictable and it may stop or progress. The thinning is more noticeable now because its been going on for so long. I've done cortisone lotions and shots but didnt really help, I'm just using minoxidil now. I understand what you're going through, this is very frustrating to deal with.
Yes. The actual spot I have is very tender, and the whole head has itch that comes and goes. Eyebrows occasionally itch.
soak ur scalp with white wine vinegar for a couple of hours the itching will stop repeat the next day if necessary, usually it stops itching after one or two applications.............. now for the spots use camphorated alchohol rub the bald patch with a cotton dipped in camphorated alchohol several times a day for 2 wks, make sure to rub the stop very hard untill its bruised n sore......... your hair will grow back.dont give up or u will be bald for the rest of ur life
simultaneously take hair supplements to strenghten the roots
Matteo, where do I get camphorated alcohol? I can't find it.
I have hair loss in a diffuse pattern. Do I run all over my head or just the one spot I have?
if ur problem is AA then the alchohol is to be rubbed on the patch ( a little wider than the patch area) now if the diffuse hair loss is related to the same problem then i strongly suggest u take homeopathy hair supplements simultaneously........ for stronger hair roots and for growth!! ( i suffered from the same i had 19 patches as well as diffuse hair fall...evrytime in the shower my hair would just come off i was so afraid but i did everything i could to find a solution........do not leave the patch for too long coz the germ spreads
i discovered my first patch when i was holidaying in paris preparing for my engagement party..i went to a well know doctor who put me on griseofulvin n terbinafine 1000mg/per day for 5 months but the patches kept spreading i came back to india and my mom took me to a local ayuvedic doc, he told me its a germ infestin that eats away the hair bulbs n hence the hair fall n that he has a preparation that i had to apply for 5 days and in less than two weeks my hair would grow back,, but i didnt quite believe him coz i had read all over the internet that it is stress and about the cortisone shots and that it has no cure blah blah , i continued with the a terbinafine for another month i was lookin swollen n my skin was pale n dark(am from india)but the patches kept getting larger ....out of no choice i went back to the local doc and by this time i had 19 patches ie almost half my hair, i let the ayurvedic doc applty his portion, he basically rubbed the bald spots with lime untill my skin was pink n sore quite barbaric i must say n then he applied a this so called medicine, i had to keep it on for 5days without a shower, during which the spots began to blister n was painfull for the FIRST 3days, he also prescribed hair supplements which i took for nearly 3 months and i still do ... to cut the story short in less than 2wks my hair started to grow back very light n pale lookin hair but in about a month they were all back....it was a traumatis experience n i would like everyone suffering form this to use this remedy n stop themselves from getting entirely bald and living in mentall pain... pl share ur experience after u've treated yourself
the ayurvedic doc used croton tiglium seeds(tiny seeds ull probably need 3 of them for ur spot for 4 to 5 days application) mixed with optional lime or small onion( its a variety the size of a cherry very pungent)
after 2 yrs when i was in italy last year i discovered 2small spots but i had no access to the medicine but the local haitdresses who discovered my bald spots in italy he told me to rub alcool camforato(camphorated alchohol) several times a day for ten days you have to rub untill ur spots burn like crazy i did it and for one the spots didnt get larger and in 2 to 3 wks my hair came back!! remember to get rid of the nasty spots the minute u see it or you are just givin it time to breed!! u have two options to get it done with!!!
u can buy the alcool camforato in a pharmacy or place an order with them and if you wanna try the croton tiglium seeds( 'jamal gota' indian name) u may find it on the internet.....croton tiglium is a sure shot where as the alcool is not necessarily successful all the time unless you go at it with a vengeance!! email me or facebook me punamp@yahoo.com if u want to ,i can guide you clearly ... the seeds or the alcool may cost you more or less than 2 usd i think.
hi matteo, can u use this alcohol on eyelashes and eyebrows too? can i use a qtip to put white wine vinegar on them? i have severe itching on scalp, stinging eyebrows and pricking in the eylashes. Also itches all over body where hair loss occurring.
