Hi all:

I have had AA for about 13 years. I have been getting the topical treatment of Diphencyprone for about 6 weeks now. My hair is growing back but was doing so before I started the treatment. However, it is still falling in spots.

What I am wondering is if there is anyone else out there who has had a similar treatment and what kind of results you experienced?

Thanks

Hi

I have had aa on and off since being 4, i lost almost all my hair at around 17 and started dpc at around 18 almost all my hair came back but it did take a while, maybe a year, although there were definate results pretty quickly, just some stubborn patches took longer, my hair never fell again until after the birth of my daughter 3 years ago, its been slow though and touch wood iv not lost it all. Iv been back on dpc now for just short of a year and its had good results however i am on 2.5 % which is full strength with no real reaction, and iv soticed some new patches of loss so hoping and praying im not starting to loose my hair again, anyway good luck and i'd say of the people using dpc iv met over the years the results are good

Hope this helps
Hi,

I've had AA for about 7 years. I've tried cortisone treatments with limited success, acupuncture (which was so horrible I stopped it before I could see if it was working), and more recently, supplements and allergy treatments from my Naturopath. The cortisone injections actually work fairly well for me but the hair growth from the injections can't keep up with the hair loss. I started with a Naturopath about 6 months ago and for the first time I have a nice little crop of tiny white baby hairs on many of my bald sections. Unfortunately, lately these little white hair have been thinning and I just noticed a new bald spot last week which was quite discouraging. As a result of all this, I ask my Derm for a referral to the Hair Clinic at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. They use the DCP Therapy. My first appointment is in April. The main reason I joined this support website was to find other AA sufferers who had tried this treatment. It sounds pretty intrusive so I didn't want to start it until I heard some success stories. I'm sad to see that you have only received one response so far. Hopefully you'll get more responses. In the meantime, I would really like to follow your progress if you are willing to share. Good luck!

Cheri
