I've had alopecia universalis for 4 years now. I've always worn straight wigs, because that's how my hair always was (and will be again one day!!)
I found this great wig on www.hatswithhair.com which is a mix of synthetic and human hair. I wss thinking of trying a curly style finally. I'm just worried that the curly hair will frizz in the summer. Do all human hair curls frizz in the heat of the summer? Should I stick with a straight style for summer, and maybe try curls in the fall/winter?
Thanks!

Hi Amy
I think your choice is really cute!
Have fun this summer in it.

I think human/synthetic blends are a bad idea in my opinion. I had to send mine back and stick to all human hair. You kind of get the worst of both worlds. You can't really style it like you would human hair, yet it doesn't stay in place as a synthetic would. Plus, I got the "heat-resistant" fibers and I had serious static electricity going on, ugh!
I like wavy human hair wigs and systems, and have not noticed any excessive frizz.
I have curly hair and it does take some knowledge on how to tame it. My hair isn't a tight curl, but I still never brush it or it frizzes. I comb it with a wide tooth comb in the shower and then I try not to touch it much or it tends to frizz. Deep conditioning is a must and I can only use certain products. My daughter has AU and I think I would steer her away from curly wigs. You just have a lot more flexibility with straight hair. I am assuming since it is human hair it would react the same as mine does. If you do go with the curly wig, check out some of the natural curly hair websites. They have a lot of good advice on taming the curls. Good luck!
