Hi shoff39!
Back in the day, I used to wear wigs and they looked 'wiggy' back then. Today, there are some really beautiful natural looking wigs. I go on YouTube and learn how to make the 'parts' look real by 'plucking' some of the hairs to widen the part and by applying make-up in the part to blend in with my skin tone.
There are several young ladies that I subscribe to, but there's one in particular that is awe-inspiring to me. She makes her own wigs; colors, cuts and styles them. You might want to check her out. Her channel name is: Peakmill.
If you are looking for affordable beautiful wigs, I have found some here: https://store.naturallyyoursboutique.com/collections/human-hair-wigs
Let me know what you think...
Hope this helps.
If you have hair on your head, to get the wig to lie down flat, you should braid your own hair or wear a wig cap to lay it down as flat as possible, and then put your wig on. If you do either of these already, maybe the cap is too big...maybe you're choosing wigs that have too much hair--too dense. I have found that a wig with about 120-130 density is a more natural looking density for people who are used to medium thick hair...
Hi Kristin, where did you get your wig. It looks so natural. I have a vacuum wig, but it has ALOT of hair. Thanks
Hi Pat if you need a natural looking wig, you can get it custom made, i get my wig custom made in the hair density light to medium thickness and which make the wig very natural looking, most of the time people don't know that i am wearing a wig if i don't tell them. I just got another custom wig made from this wig company call silkawigs and my wig look very natural, also all of my custom wigs from them last me well over 2 years. Here's a picture of my custom wig they just made for me. let me know if you have any question
KristinWelsh, I love your wig! It looks so natural and good on you. Your family is beautiful too :-)
What brand is your wig. Do you mind sharing the link or website?
You look amazing! I would never know it was a wig.
Wow it looks really good. Where do you go?
The advise that I would give for making a wig look natural is to not wear it straight out of the package. When I buy wigs, I wash them and let them dry. Then, I use a razor comb and thin the wigs out, trim around the ears, and style the bangs if the wig has bangs. The key is to make the wig your own, and also to not make it too perfect. People question if your hair looks too perfect because most people do not have perfect hair.
Perhaps it is different because I am a man, but I have gone into beauty supply stores to look at wigs and surprised the salespeople when I take my wig off to try one on. I have had more than one salesperson tell me that thought I was a salesman coming in to meet with the owner or manager. Also, I should add that I buy inexpensive wigs.
I cut my own wigs, but if you are not comfortable doing that and have had bad luck with stylists on wigs, then you might like hair direct or even hair club for men. My partner is a Hair Club member, and yes, you can choose the density, color, percentage of highlights, etc. He is happy with Hair Club. I wear wigs because I like to be in control. Even when I had a full head of hair, I cut my own hair. I am a little controlling in that way :-)
