Does a Gluten free diet work for alopecia (according to the Internet it does)

Hello fellow Alopecians

I would like to know if there is anyone on this page whose alopecia improved by a Gluten free diet.

I want to comment  on my experience. I was diagnosed with AA 45 years ago. At the time, I was attempting to quit smoking. The doctor told I should keep smoking....stress related! Thankfully, I didn't listen to that advice! So for all these years hair fell out, grew in regularly. Once I lost all the hair at the hairline about 2 inches up. Tried many things, finally decided I just had to live with it. About 4 years ago I started having all the symptoms of gluten intolerance so I gave up gluten completely. Well, about a year into it my hairdresser told me I didn't have a single spot. She had always found a few but she told me there were none! So I began to check regularly along with her monitoring my scalp. Nothing! Not a sign of it!  I'm doing absolutely nothing else different than I ever was so it has to be! I eat dairy and I sure didn't start smoking again!! Don't even miss gluten.....now there are so many alternatives! Cauliflower has become my best friend!! Even pizza crust!

That’s awesome!

thats awesome.  i have been gfree vegan for four years with no regrowth.  :(

Right through my 20's. Shaved my head still see patches. Looks like I've got lepracy whatever I do. Always asked to remove my hat. Failed theory test for driving put off by hair on show. Job interviews... Good luck. Can't work with food or serve. Can't work factory. Can't work office no hats. Not recognised as a disability. Since 23 most of my hair falls out. I'm 29 this year and all I've done is learn that people are scumbags and finding a fix for this incurable disease is about as good a waste of time than pissing right into the wind stood on your head. 6 years of my life ruined by some inexplicable thing. Anyway I got that old I'm going legit bald now. Good luck everyone. People will judge you. Talk about you and single you out. Oh and the amount of appointments... I guess a woman can get a wig. Not a male in his 20s though. I literally look ill without a hat on. Shaved head or not the patches are bright white and my hair is dark brown. Anyway just a quick one for someone letting out REAL feelings on this dreadful disease.

From my experience, no it doesn't. The gluten free diet is hard to follow, and any slip ups and you might as well call it quits. I've heard of gluten free recovering alopecia patients who also had celiac disease, but no one will ever truly know if removing it from the diet is what causes the regrowth. Alopecia is a very complicated disorder, and sometimes people achieve remission at random times. From my own experience, taking 2 capsules of gotu kola every other week along with the use of olive oil shampoo has really sped up my hair growth. Yet, everyone is different.

Hey. Coffee stimulates activity in the first place. How this affects the desire to eat can be found on website . Do not forget that caffeine is also used in sports nutrition as a good stimulant. It is important to always control the consumption of this drink and this will only bring you benefits.
