Can anyone suggest a double sided tape for sensitive skin? It does not need to be too strong an adhesive as I take my wig off a few times a day. Also, should I be using some sort of remover? I just pull it off and that may be contributing to the problem.

Hi Steph,

Like the profile pic! btw- I just scheduled Women with Alopecia Month BGDL awareness in Fairfield for July 21. The theme is Bald? So What!

Tape: I use what's called red tape because the peel-off paper is reddish. Have never had any skin reactions. It has enough stick to reuse unless you're in exceptionally perspiring situations. Lots of people sell it, but I buy it in bulk from WilshireWigs.com in their accessories section. I haven't stocked up in a while but I think the one I use is called High-Tack Red. It also makes an excellent tape for low necklines to tape clothing to your skin or bra. Quite all purpose. Needs no remover.

Will drop a sample in the mail to you.

If anyone overseas wants this tape, let me know. It's easy to ship.

Thanks, Thea!!!
I agree with Thea on the "red tape". I use it and is able to take off my wig easily (with a bald head). Hurts a little to take it off when you have hair. I just rip it off when it's time to wash my wig. I bought it from Hair Club For Men and Women when I was a member. It does tear up the band a bit but it's almost a year old and still looks pretty good.
Hope this helps!

Yes, it does Beckee. I am getting a new wig this week and it has built-in tabs for the tape so hopefully it won't affect the wig liner but I do have some hair which will be a problem. I am going to look into this product as I prefer tape to clips (which I currently use) that pull on my hair and leave a bump. Thank you for replying.
I've had silk sewn into the top of some of my older and still usable caps and have found that the red tape sticks to it just fine (and I use it for the 'red carpet' treatment on dressy clothing as mentioned above and it doesn't budge). But if it were not releasing easily on hair I would probably want to have some tape release product to dab and dissolve the adhesive. Keep in mind you can often use tape over tape so you're not removing it down to the first layer every time and that saves on hairs and cap wear. The strips are easy and you can cut them into even smaller pieces. It also comes on a roll. Strips are easy to carry around in a wallet.

Another option is a product called It Stays body adhesive which applies like a roll-on. Visit AmesWalker.com or amazon. (for Amazon you can shop with the BGDL toolbar For me it's not sticky enough but it might be just enough for the side tabs on your new wig.

That's helpful. I always rip out hairs when I take it off and never thought to just add more tape.
Stacey, Someone gave me a handful of these when I first lost my hair and I could never find more. Thanks! They don't seem to be as harsh as other tape I have tried and I will definitely use the rubbing alcohol, too.
Hi Steph, I vote for the reddish strip double sided tape. I used this when I was with hair club, to remove it use a little rubbing alcohol if you don't want to pull your hair out with it. So you get your new wig soon. Awesome!! I still having gotten my second wig and I'm getting nervous with summer coming and all. I will soon, I'm going to have to. take care.
Tomorrow I am picking it up!!!! Will try to get pics soon and post them. Thea sent me some samples which I will use tomorrow. So glad to know about the alcohol as pulling out the hair hurts!
