Hey there! I hope you're having a good day :)
I'm 19 years old and I've had alopecia since I was 6 or 7. It came and went and I got shots in my head and took experimental medications until 2017, last year, when I left home and just decided to wear a wig. I've bought all my wigs from wigsbuy.com and they come pretty good. But after a wash or 2, they become dry and frizzy and I can't go out with it down or it'll tangle and get matted up. THIS IS SO UNBELEIVABLY FRUSTRATING!!!
I understand this could be because they wigs are not of the greatest quality but as a 19 year old working in americorps and living without family, I can't really afford a $$$$ wig. So something in the under 300 range is what I go for. Also, the wig I ordered was pretty curly and I read that that can also contribute to it. Though the wig has lost its curl and is just extremely frizzy. I've bought and tried so much shampoo and de frizzer, but nothing seems to last. I bought jon renau shampoo and conditioner and that spray, super expensive by the way, and they don't work that well either.
Please please please someone help me. I can't stand this. I just need a wig that can cooperate and work with me.
Thanks all!

A long time ago, my insurance paid for two custom-made hair pieces. I know this can be challenging since insurance companies can be cold and heartless.
If you get a good one, you might be spending the same amount of money you would for getting a new one every time the old one wears out.
I would probably use a credit card for a good one instead of cash for a cheap one just like you would borrow money from the bank to buy a safe car instead of paying cash for a cheap one.
Every now and then I get tired of my own hair. When this happens, I would try hair extensions for beautiful hair styles. My favorite go-to style is freetress water wave hair. I have tried numerous hair textures, but by far the best crochet braid choice and Water Wave bundles has the best texture.
Best Longevity
The reason I choose water wave is that it has the best longevity. This texture is your tropical getaway in the form of loose, carefree curly bundles. With Water Wave, the longer I keep the hair installed, the better it looks.
Natural and Nice Hair Ends
Modern Show Water Wave Bundles
It gives more fullness in the root and tapers/ gets thinner towards the ends for a more natural or realistic effect. Hair is usually thick in the roots naturally. Otherwise, it would be too full at the ends. Also, the ends of Modern Show water wave bundles also looks beautiful, and gives a natural and thick looks.
Good Quality and Beautiful Hair
Modern Show Water Wave Hair
I strong recommend Modern Show water wave hair. This hair type give your a very beautiful wavy pattern and use 100% virgin remy hair. This hair is perfect for adding hair volume and give a fresh look of your appearance.
Some Thing You Need To Know When Choosing Freetress Water Wave
How to Choose-Color
Modern Show Water Wave Hair
I try to always install hair that matches my natural hair color because when all my new growth starts come in it blends with the installed hair and it is hard to tell the difference between the two. The Water wave hair of Modern Show is 100% virgin hair, you can color it or style it to your desired look. It is also a great hair that looks great even through my 4-5 days of working out.
Choosing Right Length
Water Wave Hair
It is very important to get correct length of Freetress water wave hair for your appealing appearance. So we recommend you take a look at yourself and to measure the exactly length of hair you need, make sure the hair length of water wave works for your height, face shape.
sounds like you need to do a fabric softener soak if it is a synthetic wig. mix about 4 parts cool water to 1 part fabric softener and soak your wig in it for about 20 minutes. rinse lightly, blot in a towel, and hang upside down to dry. then a spray with silicone helps. there are uTube vids for about anything wigs.
there are hundreds of wig sites online and, some of them have clearance rooms and fantastic sales. i think you can get much better wigs for the money than you have been.
i'm going to suggest that if you are a member of facebook, that you join some of the helper hair groups for answers & support, and all things wigs. these are closed groups, so no one outside members sees what is posted: Jessica's Wig Support, Hair Loss Sisters, Helper Hair.
For buying wigs: Jessica's Wig Spin Off, HLS Buy Sell & Trade

Hi Hannah,
I understand how you feel. When you're on a budget every nickel dime and quarter counts. And when your hair (wig) isn't right nothing seems to be right .
Owning a good wig with "good hair" means you must "invest" in yourself. You truly get what you pay for. My suggestion is to use a sulfate-free gentle shampoo on your human hair wig. This type of shampoo and conditioner should also work on a good quality synthetic wig as well.
Also, the "tools" you use on your wig unit makes a difference in how your wig looks. A good quality wide bristle brush with protective coverings will definitely make a difference. Whether you wear a human hair or synthetic wig, treating it gently and caring for it as if it grew from your own scalp is important to the beauty and longevity of your wig.

I had the same problem. Watched some videos on using a hand held steamer with wide bristle brush also a hot air brush ( the brush does not create heat that would hurt synthetic wigs) after misting wig with water. Patti's pearls had video for steaming and blondie locks had video for hot air brush. I find these helpful. hand held steamer was about $38.00 and hot air brush was about $20.00 on ebay brand was helen of troy. All styling should be done on wig head which can be bought on amazon. I also bought a silicone spray for wigs and a cheap silicone conditioner on amazon. The conditioner wasn't for wigs but I find it works well.
I have a Jon renau synthetic that's lasted me a whole year of full time wear. A cheap $20 garment steamer was a lifesaver, but you'll have to reset the curls if you de-frizz it that way. Simply Stylin silicone spray helps prevent frizzy friction damage. I use that about every other day, and yeah its expensive, but it really makes my wigs last a long time. The silicone is the same stuff our synthetic wigs are coated with when they are fresh from the factory, and when that coating washes away the wigs are really quick to lose their shape and movement.
I've been wearing my Rachel Welsh almost 2 years, a few days a week. I have trimed the ends and use a flat iron on low heat. I buy the heat friendly tru 2 life wigs, they are the most natural and won't break the bank.
