Hi all, I've been struggling with Alopecia Areata about 4 years now. Never had it as a child and there's no one in my family who I know of who had it. I've been getting the injections and using a topical treatment since I first learned I had it. It normally works in about 2 months when I have a spot and I've seen growth but then half of what grows falls back out. Currently I'm at my worst I've been so far with roughly 85% hair loss.

I learned about Xeljanz a while back but was hesitant to take it bc of potential side effects. I finally gave in and started it for 2 days in july then immediately got covid so I stopped taking. I'm now fully vaccinated and was going to resume this month but am still somewhat hesitant. I know everyone is different but I'm curious to know if any of you have taken and how it's affected you. How bad were side effects if any? did side effects last long? were you able to successfully stop taking and still have growth?

I'd love to hear any experiences you've had with it!
