Hi,
I have begun to lose half of one of my eyebrows. Does anyone know the brand of a very good quality eyebrow pencil?
I tried a Clarins and a Clinique one today. They were both good, a tad expensive, but it will be worth it I think.
The thing I noticed about the two pencils I used was that one was more grippy because it had talc in it and the other glided on as it was talc free.
I wonder which has more staying power; the talc or talc-free?
Thanks,
Kimberly

I've been using the clinique eyebrow pencil for about 3 years now. I use it with their browkeeper powder and it's fabulous. I've tried other products and the clinique ones have by far been the ones that have worked best for me and are worth the money. I also use this liquid called weather everything from bare minerals that you can get a sephora. I put that on top of my eyebrows after I've drawn them in and it keeps them on all day even if I'm at the beach sweating like crazy. I live in Florida and without the liquid my eyebrows did come off throughout the day, because I'd be so hot from the heat, so the liquid is awesome too for eyebrows.
HI Kimberly,
I use Revlon or Mebelline revolving eyeliner pencils to make my eyebrows coz they r waterproof & r much smoother than an eyebrow pencil. They also dont spread when wet with sweat or water. U can try that.
My brand of choice is Annabelle. The pencil glides on firm enough you can draw a good line and lasts all day. I've tried Avon's pencils and find the texture is too soft (talc?) so couldn't draw anything! I've also tried Rimmel (too hard to draw a line) and Marcelle. I always prefer Annabelle - price and quality wise.
My preference is brow powder.

You get precision shape and placement of your brow. At the same time you get a microscopically fuzzy edge which reads from a distance as more textured and hair like than the smooth line of a pencil.

Pencils are wax based so sealing them is more difficult. Sealer over powder bonds with the particles and locks it down.
Both sunlight and electric light will bounce off pencil. Powder will absorb the light and give a matte appearance more like hair does.

If using a pencil every day I would think it would wear down pretty quickly. Powder lasts longer from the economical standpoint I think. But I don't buy pencil so I don't know how much they cost. Powder can double as shadow, too.

Hi Kimberly, I lost my brows completely & went with permanent eyebrow make-up; but prior to losing my eyebrows, I like Alexandra used Clinique's eyebrow pencil & browkeeper powder & agree they were fabulous.
Good luck in finding the one that works best for you.
Hi Pamela
I am considering permanent eyebrow makeup as I have no brows (or any else hair-wise for that matter). How was it? It's quite expensive and, as its permanent - or at least for 3 years the brochure I have says, it's quite a big decision.
I'd love your comments.

I just bought an eyeliner by maybelline and it seems to be working good.
If they all go I will get them tattooed
Try Lancome eyebrow pencils. Long Lasting.
