First consult for wig

I only remember seeing a TV program that was showing someone going to that salon in LA. Is it pricey? Did they seem helpful? What is your daughter getting from them? What kind of hair, cap, etc.? And the cost? Keep everyone posted on how it all goes. When will she get it?

We had our second consult this morning and they were very caring and professional. They showed us all kinds of hair samples over Skype so we were able to choose exactly what we wanted. Their wigs are all custom made so the fit will be perfect. The caps are mono .. something... with a lace front that is virtually invisible! The hair is caucasian from the US and the one we chose is very long to suit my daughter's hair that she still has left. They are expensive (quoted me $3,800) but if we take proper care of it it will last a good year before any repairs need to be done. It takes 6-8 weeks to make. My daughter still has about 40% of her hair left and it is quite long. They assured us that the cap will fit over her existing hair and she can even pull some of her own hair out so it will look even more natural and also give her a sense of her own self. She can live it in for sleep-overs but they don't suggest showering and swimming on a regular basis simply because it's hard on the hair just like it is on any hair. We haven't committed 100% yet, we also have a consult with Richard Farrell. I have heard mixed reviews about his hair systems so probably won't go with him but I want to go to the consult just so I can keep people informed.

Chery, that is awfully expensive. The hair is not from the U.S. Ask what kind of hair it is. European Virgin hair is the best. For that price, I would go Follea. Although she still has 40% hair. It may all grow back in. Try Follea if you are looking to pay that much and are OK with it

Hi Cheryl. Milano is a lot like Fortune wigs-a company in Brooklyn that makes wigs with traditional caps. But Milano does not have the Asian (Mazali) hair option that Fortune does. So some of their wigs are EHH and some are processed as in "Premium processed hair is quality human hair that has been dyed to achieve the desired color."
I am guessing this processed hair might be Asian or mixed darker EHH and Asian but they dont say. If your daughter likes straight hair then Asian hair is great, unless it has been badly processed. I trust the Brooklyn companies to lighten hair more than ANY other companies although I'm sure that Follea, at their price point, also take care in lightening hair.
If you are going to get Asian hair I think I would go with the Fortune Mazali line, but if you want EHH then go with Milano. They have mixed reviews on blogs among women from the Orthodox Jewish community who have been some of their main customers-some complaints are that blond oxidizes too soon, or that its hard to get an ashy blond-too much of red tones.
I have 2 short EHH Milano-they all have the French silk top which means hidden knots and realistic part. I still wear these wigs after 18 months-they are great-but I can't speak for their longer wigs. But the price is certainly great for starting out and getting to know how to style and work with hh wigs.

Amy Gibson at Createdhair.com has Follea wigs. Check out her website. She is also very helpful and will answer all your questions. I did go on the Wigginout website. They seem to have a lot and looks really nice, but also, their website offers no information, like about the type of caps offered, the hair colors, the styles, and most of all the price. At least I couldn't find anything. Oh, and look at Fortune wigs. They are priced much better, and maybe for a first wig, and to get the hang of taking care of a human hair wig, maybe I wouldn't go the most expensive route right now. Is this her first wig? And she is how old? It is an expensive purchase for certain and I have been trying to research and come to a decision of what I myself should do. I have wasted far too much money in the past on bad decisions, and things that just got me temporarily all excited when I tried them on, or thought about the prospect of getting something and had to pay upfront. Just the idea of having a full head of hair, something that most people just take for granted....

My nieces just donated hair for me. I was communicating with wiggin out but they lost interested when I didn't buy by the end of the year. I'm going to donate the hair to kids. I'm scAred of all the businesses out there. Not sure who to trust. I'm very interested in Iwigs though. Heard good things about them.

Sorry your crying. Been there done that even tonight. My faith has gotten me through this. I'm way stronger than I was. It's tough but it will get better. I've been using essential oils for the emotional aspect of this. I don't wake up with the sick feeling every day. I make myself exercise too. My resolution is to work out more. I can get my body in good shape. Something I can control. God Bless. Keep the faith.
