Hi  - I had posted a while ago that I ordered a Gripper.  I do feel very secure in it and feel like the hair is very natural looking. I was not happy with the price but decided to splurge on myself for once.   I also would like to be able to pull my hair up or back so I am thinking of a lace wig this time. But my salon also has a piece (not full lace) but it is human hair but wavy.  I do love that.  I was concerned about the price of a second piece, but my new insurance company just told me the wig will be covered so I should get what I want for my 2nd one.   What suggestions does everyone have - a lace - or just regual

You may want to have a created hairline cut into the Gripper that you already have. Also called baby hairs.

This looks so awesome! How do I contact this company and are they real expensive?

Blee  -- Follea lists all their wigs and prices online. They are super expensive. Yes, the pictures of this one person with her hair done up look amazing.  One thing you should know though, Follea wigs are not VIRGIN UNPROCESSED HUMAN HAIR. they try to remove the cuticle. the hair does not move like growth hair.

Actually, I see Rose Marie already wrote about this... we all hate to see our alopecia sisters spend thousands of dollars and not get top quality..

If you can afford Follea ... then go for the BEST which is FREEDOM. Especially for a professional work environment... you can't get a better look and feel.  that's just my opinion... but I have had BOTH. Carmen is a great stylist.. but I don't think she has alopecial. I think she just sells Follea. (I could be wrong...)

Hi

It really depends on what you are wanting to achieve....there are many ladies here that wear very reasonably priced lace wigs...you might like to do a search and chat to them.  Most lace wigs are fully handtied...which might be a nice change from the wefts that you may have in your current Gripper.  (unless you have a fully customised, handtied option).

Just be aware that on most lace wigs and Follea 'gripper' wigs the hair is processed human hair...find out what that means to you. There are only two types of hair  processed and 100% unprocessed.  There is a vast difference between these two types of human hair.

The other thing to understand with lace and handtied pieces is the return hair that is often difficult to deal with.  Ask about that as well as different companies have different ways of dealing with this problem...sometimes they process the ends...sometimes they cut them so they are extremely short ...but either way they do have ramifications for the wearer....just ask so you understand.

There is a mum here who swears by the lace wigs she gets for her daughter directly from China...they are very reasonably priced.  Her name escapes me at the moment...but when I find her I'll pop her info up here.

I have also read a few posts about wigs similar to the follea gripper that are available from some of the big wigmakers Jon Renau etc.  Maybe worth having a look at their products as well.

I've also seen the i-wig..another nice lace alternative. :)

Good luck with everything I'm sure you will find another alternative that will work well for you.

Hi

I was able to contact 'Karen'  (the lady who has a daughter that wears lace wigs).

Here is her reply:

Hi, I use QD beauty and talk to a lady named Emily. They do a good job. They cost about $100 more than the other sites but the hair is nicer quality.

Rosy

I have been trying to contact Follea and can't get an answer? I was wondering how much does Gripper medium length cost?
Thank you

Hello Blee,

Please call me, Carmen West, iCARE, at 850-712-3369 or email at cwestgb@aol.com

I will answer any questions on pricing

.

Hi Carmen, I did locate price list and it's kinda pricey for what I want to spend! I had a custom made piece made in the early 90's that was $3000 and it only lasted me. Few years! Too expensive for me! I buy one now every few months because they get dry ends too quickly even with real hair! What is life span on these from Follea?
Thank you

if you give me a call I can help you with this problem.

Also, I have some discontinued grippers in liited color and sizes and lengths. You never know I may have the one for you.

Gripper Sport 12 " in dark colors $4,373  in blonde  $4,810

Gripper Luxe 12" in dark colors $5,473  in blonde $6,020

I've been told the prices have gone up since this list. for some reason I can't get  the Follea website to respond. it WAS:   www.follea.com/

OH MY... have the prices gone up. Just looked at my last quote from Follea.

Gripper Cool in 12 inche $3,475 last year.  NEW price  $3,823

Hi Rose

I just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that this is not me...I think we are sometimes mixed up as my call name is Rose Marie' and I sign as Rosy.  (bit confusing).
