Freedom Wig Wearers!

For those of you who wear a Freedom Wig:

I recently purchased a Freedom Wig, and although the ordering process was very positive, I am not happy with the density of the wig. I ordered light density, and I regret that I did not order light/medium density, as I personally feel that the wig does not have enough hair. Freedom has informed me that if I wanted extra hair added, I would have to pay for it, but I have not heard back as to how much they would charge me. My Rep and Freedom have also encouraged me to work with what I have, change the part, try a different hair cut etc...but the more time I spend with it, the more I am unhappy with it. I am also wondering whether it is even possible to change a Freedom Wig from light to light/medium density after it has been made?
For those of you who have a Freedom Wig, has anyone had issues with the density and has anyone ever added more hair? Is this even possible?

Hi

It's not possible to change the density of a FW once made. Density is even and all over it would be like making a new hairpiece. Sorry. Nikki I believe your IA is doing her best to support you through this. Please continue to talk with her. :)

I ordered one (been at least two or three years ago) and it was lacking enough hair in the front (forehead/bang area) but I talked with my rep and sent back and they added hair without any extra expense except for the freight to ship.

I'm sorry, I just saw your message (I don't get on that often)... I guess the desity was of average thickness except for the front as I had mentioned. All I did was email, then talk to my rep and she said the same, that it looked too thin in front. I just sent it back in and they added more hair around the bang/front area.

Hello Nikki

I understood that you wanted your whole hairpiece density changed all over. If this is the case it isn't possible.

Also, in my mind to much hair in a hairpiece can look very unnatural. So, be careful around this for yourself.

Replacing a Bang/Fringe is also a very tricky procedure which comes at a cost to the client if there is no fault with the hairpiece. I have seen some lovely photo's of your hair and there doesn't seem to be any issue with your fringe area - hair coverage is very natural which is what a FW tries to simutlate.

It is worthwhile giving this a little time and do your best to enjoy the hairpiece and bond with it rather than thinking of ways to change it. Sadly (I know) it isn't your own hair but I know that you and your IA worked very hard to get something that would work for you.

Hi,

From my experience the density is dependant on the type of hair that you choose. My first wig was made with European hair and I opted for medium light density as European hair is thinner than most. Even with this density, I had to get the wig thinned out.

The second time, I opted for Asian hair which is courser and I was advised by my rep to go for light density. I can say that I was pleased with it but felt that it was a bit too light at the back even though in apprearance I had a full and thick head of hair.

I have recently ordered another one in Asian hair and have gone for light at the front and medium-light towards the back which I wasn't aware I could do. Hopefully, I will be even more pleased with it when it comes. After wearing FW for around 3-4 years now, I would totally recommend them and even more so with asian hair for the following reasons:

Better quality hair and lasts longer
More absorbent and doesnt get too dry compared to European hair
The hair doesn't break as much as European hair as the strands are a lot more stronger.
The hair naturally looks gorgoeus and shiny and sits very well

That's my advice.....not too sure if it helps you in your current situation but may do when you make your next purchase. I should point out that I opted for Asian hair as I am of caribbean ethnicity and found this hair type more suitable for me.

Hi Nikki, You my want to have a body wave on the vacuum. In my experience working with vacuum pieces they seam like to much hair and needs to be thinned.
