This is my story in short. I was 5 years old when I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. When I was 28 and a couple of weeks pregnant with my second child I notice some hair missing in back of my head I went to a dermatologist and he said if I take steroid shots it would grow back being pregnant and a diabetic it is not a good idea to do. So I waited until my child was born by then I lost all my hair all over my body. I kept hoping once I gave birth my hair would grown back (didn't happen :() I went to another dermatologist and she basically told me there is nothing to do and she said I have an overactive immune system (diabetes, alopecia etc). The same way it fell out it can grow back. It has been 5 years and nothing happened( I went through another pregnancy and birth since then and things stayed the same. I did tattoo eyebrows and eyeliner. IT IS THE BEST THING EVER, and I wear a wig or hat everyday. My question is what is the percentage that one of my kids carry the gene? Does anyone know? Does anyone know of a parent and a child having alopecia?
Thanks for your help,
Laya
