I recently contacted a wig company that sets up private consultations in your home. I'm trying to figure out if this place is legit. The website has a 1800 # and alot of good info, so I called. The woman wanted me to send my photos and my id member # for my insurance. I guess they contact my insurance company to see if the cost is covered for the wig. I'm on the fence on this one. Any advice anyone?

Thanks!
Linda

Arrange to meet at your church parlor with the minister and a parent there, or a police station, and see if they balk.

I checked out their website and I was really impressed with their section called "Wig Etiquette" and here is the number one etiquette thing listed, "Don't ask if she/he is wearing a wig. Don't touch their hair; don't even consider saying you like their wig. Just say they look great. After all, isn't that what you are trying to communicate." That should be the same for those of us with alopecia or other forms of hair loss. They seem like a legitimate organization. You can ask them for references of others who have used your services and see if they give you any. You can call others who live in your area to see what their experiences are. Good luck.

Hello Linda

I'm don't know anything about the company that has contacted you. I would just suggest you use your common sense around working with anybody.

Take your time before making any definate decisions. Don't feel harried or hassled by the people involved and make sure you investigate their products as much as you can.

Good luck with everything.

did you get the wig or meet with them? I saw their ad as well, although I do not live close enough for a home consultation..

I just wonder if they were realistic looking and/or if they stayed on well or not? my daughter is only 10 and I wouldn't want any kids to be picking on her for a bad looking hairpiece..

Thanks for your help!
