Hi all!
This will be a little long so I can try to provide all the info at one time.
My hair has been on and off over the past 10 years with growing and falling out but I've never had it grow past 1.5 inches before I end up shaving it off bc it starts falling out again or it's super thin.
I've read some good things about acupuncture and recently started getting treatment after my hair was already growing back to see if it would help. I don't know if it's the acupuncture but my hair is growing and there's no bald spots yet but it is still thin in certain areas like my edges and on the sides. I'm hopeful it will get thicker, there's still lots of baby hairs right.
Anyways I am going to Hawaii in September (I know it's a ways away but covid and I want to test our hair methods before) for 3 weeks and I plan to go snorkeling and scuba diving and jump in the water. I usually don't take beach trips and if I do they're less than a week and I usually just sit on the beach and go in the water waist deep. My backup plan is to use super tape for my wigs but it is tough on my skin and my edges and I am really hoping for another solution since this vacation is 3 weeks long.
I'm curious if anybody has worked out any hair extension or solutions for short hair for water activities? Right now my hair is an inch long and I'm hoping it will be a couple inches longer before my trip. I've looked into sew-in weave extensions and crochet braid extensions and wanted to know if anybody has tried that or something else? More people are saying crochet braid extensions are better but I have thin straight hair. For more context crochet braid extensions you get your hair braided flat against your head (cornrows) and then hair strands are crocheted onto your braids. My hair isn't thick and will be short I'm worried the cornrows will start coming apart and not hold together.
I will definitely go with just my own hair if it happens to grow and look amazing but I'm not betting on it and I'd like to do all the research and test some things out before I leave.
