Has anyone in the UK found anything that helps in the slightest to encourage more regrowth?

Found out I had Alopecia Areata 2 months ago (it was my hairdresser that found my patch :(. . ) . . It seems to of started when I was going through a hard time with my Fiance and my doctor has said there is absolutely nothing I can do to help my hair to grow back, . . On my biggest patch there is already some regrowth but I'm wondering if there is anything I could buy that someone has actually used and has helped to encourage more regrowth? . . Appreciate any help, Thanks :)

Hi I'm from the U.S. but I'm sure you could find similar things in the U.K. I got frustrated that my doctor was telling me there was nothing I could do and at the time I worked as a receptionist for a naturopath and a chiropractor. He told me that any autoimmune disease means your immune system is not working correctly so there are absolutely things to do to fix it. I started talking natural supplements for immune support... not only am I healthier, feeling better, and don't get sick anymore (not even a cold!), my hair also started growing back all over. It's been wonderful.

Also, since you said you've only had it for two months... I would say this next year is also filled with ups and downs. Your hair growth cycles are interrupted due to the alopecia, so the first year is usually lots of falling out with minimal regrowth. Don't let this damper your spirits though - I'm on year 2.5 and have steadily had regrowth with no more falling out! Hope this helps! Thanks :)

Julie, I too am in the US and going on about 2 years now. Can you give me a better idea of what you are taking? I have tried all the steroid options and nothing worked. I have little white fuzzies all over my head but they seem to stop growing at a certain point and either fall again or just stay the same length.

I am already doing 10,000 mcg of Biotin daily. What other supplements were recommended to you?

Thank you for your reply, you've told me more than my doctor has, . . I will look into getting some supplements then and fingers crossed it will help and not just with my Alopecia, . . I do have low immune at the moment due to mental and physical health so it makes more sense now :) I appreciate your reply xx
