Has anyone tried Jon Renau toppers, especially Top Form/ Top Notch?

Hi.

I wish to buy jon renau top form. So if anyone has got it and used it, I would love to hear about their experience.

Hi,
My daughter has been using the 18" jen renau top form for the last 4 months. It has worked out well for her but she now has to move on to full wigs as her hair loss is too extensive and there isn't enough hair to clip into the clips. We took the front clips out and she has just been using the double sided medical adhesive to attach it to lately. She finds the cap comfortable but she does get warm with it on but I think once she moves to a full wig she will find that even warmer.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

hi!!

thanks for the reply. I really wanted to know. I bought one  topper from local vendor and though it works ok for me...i had to pay tons of extra money to make it workable. he gave me curly topper when i have straight hairs ( he flat ironed it when i was buying it so i thought its straight  but when washed it became super curly) plus few other things. I am buying jon renau now so i just wanted some honest review of it. its new one so not many reviews are available for it. and its quite costly. I am planning fr 18" top form.

I have few specific questions. how secure is it? my current topper moves a lot. it takes me 30 mins to attach it properly.

is it hard on hair?  is your daughter sleeping in it??  with clips?

sorry i have one more question.  when i use my topper the parting looks so plastic like. just weird. so i have to back comb everything. how is jon renaus parting??

sorry for askin so many questions. but I was thinking of shaving my head and just go ahead with vacuum wig. but i need couple of months for that. so in the mean time i am planning or jon renau. and i dont want to waste 1000 grands on something wchich will make me disappointed. when i had my first topper. i had high hopes..I will have full head again. dont have to worry now. etc.etc. but when i tried it at home....i just cried....it was not because of the money but because of the disappointment.

-thanks and regards.

I understand your disappointment as I have tried many things for my daughter that didn't work out.
The topper has worked well for her and the cap is pretty secure. As she lost more hair and needed some more security I purchased the small wig clips and sewed them in myself. I did find that over time some of the wig clips would losen so I would need to re-sew them on for her. Hopefully you are good with aa needle and thread for this. I would use transparent nylon thread for this that I got at a craft store.

The wig is very straight so no need to worry about it curling once you wash it. Just make sure you use good shampoo and conditioner. I would also do a deep conditioner 1x a month and let it sit for about an hour. After washing I always let it air dry.

My daughter did not sleep with it. This would really reduce the longevity of the wig and I am not sure how comfortable it would be.

As far as the top of the wig goes we noticed that the wig starts to lose hair around the part which made the part widen. To resolve this, we would make a new part in a different location. I don't think the mono top looked incredibly natural either when you got close up. I do think having bangs cut in would help make it more natural though but she refused.

Overall, we were happy with it. Just wish we were able to get more than 3 months out of it. She has lost too much hair now and requires a full wig. I csnt help but think that part of the reason she lost her hair so quickly might have been because of the pressure the clips were putting on her hair. It was kind of a catch 22. She needed the wig topper to cover her bald spots but by getting one it may have caused her hair to fall out quicker. For this reason I can't help but think maybe just investing in a full wig where you don't need the clips might be better for your hair overall.

Good luck...hope this helped a bit :)

Hi enilorac!!

Thanks for your reply. It helped me a lot. you are right, when i use my topper i loose more hair. I even bought Zara from jon renau.  But i was not comfortable with it. Mostly due to I couldnt wear it properly and i did poor blending job. I am planning for full wig, but i need security and freedom to do anything now. I am 25 now. and I am experiencing HL since I was 19. It became noticeable when I was 21. But was able to hide it with toppik.  But i lost freedom to do many things.

I am thinking about vacuum Freedom wigs. I have talked with few women here. and it seems really nice. I need couple of months though. Have you thought about it?? All the best to you.

I know you are not using topper now. but if u want to make parting to look more natural...try using some toppik over parting. it makes it look more natural. thats what i do.

           Thanks a lot!!!
