I have read some of articles about MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) as daily supplements that can benefit hair growth. Has anyone here used MSM for allopecia hair loss? Can you share your thoughts please? Thanks

I work for a company called Monat. I sell haircare products that are anti-aging, are made of naturally based ingredients, and that don't have harmful chemicals. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee (even if you send back an empty bottle). That being said, we have less than a 1% return rate. I can give you some more info, if you're interested.

Yeah, we are all aware of the MONAT cronies..

They're crawling all over this forum.  But thanks for posting as a rep versus pretending that your daughter/son has it and it worked MIRACLES..

There's no reason for me to pretend to not be a distributor. I believe in the products and have no problem standing behind them. Are you skeptical of the the results that Monat can deliver? If you are, I'd love to hear your thoughts and get some feedback from you!

It has nothing to do with skepticism.

Just know that for a few years there have MONAT reps.  coming on the forum CAPING as "real members"..  Some making up incredible stories, fake pics, etc.  Especially using the "MONAT is a MIRACLE" schtick.. it got old quick..

Then they tried a new tactic.  The rep comes in with a sob story of their daughter son or hamster losing their hair - and how MONAT changed their lives.  They have their capes join on the same damn day "acting as members" - asking:

"Could you PM me with the product price?"

"I'm interested, could you PM me with the products you've used?"

"Wow! Sounds like a winner - I'm really interested," and again "Could you PM me with the price?"

Thus, MONAT is not new this forum.

Not interested at all in your product.  But this is the first time, we've encountered a MONAT representative coming on the forum - as a MONAT representative.

that is all..

Got it. That's sad to hear. Thanks for getting back to me.

Hey OP..

I've been using MSM as a supplement for about 3-4 years.  For those of us who have alopecia areata?  I don't think it does much for the bald spots. AA is so unpredictable, that when you finally have normal growth, it's hard to figure out what to attest it to.

I will say that since using MSM, my eyebrows are perfect, and my skin has a really nice healthy glow.  There are some side effects if you're taking too much MSM:

Weird period cycles

water weight gain

enlarged breasts

swollen tender breasts

I learned very quickly to just dial down the dose to 1,000 mg. a day.  It cut down the breast swelling/soreness and water weight gain quite a bit.  As for the monthlies, i've always been irregular, but other ladies are stating that this happens once they start taking MSM.

Good to know this. I have been taking MSM powder just for a week around 500mg a day and already see my skin getting nicer and also had very deep sleeps. So I may increase to 1000mg a day and see how it goes.
