Hello everyone! I was diagnosed with AA in 2007. I started cutting my hair with trimmers for the last 4 years. Has anyone experienced your scalp hurting before and after you cut, shave or trim? My scalp starts to hurt within 3-4 days after I cut it...like the growth of the hair causes pain. It's sensitive to touch, wearing a cap/scarf, or lying down! Once I cut it, I'm good until it starts to grow back. If you have experienced this & have some remedies, please share. Thanks!

thats me all the time I was dx a month ago.

I thought it was just me I wear hats to work cause I find light make it worse.

I have topical steroid from the dr but it doesnt work and gives me a severe migraine .

I have scarring alopecia (central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia) or the hot comb alopecia or follicular degeneration syndrome.  This form of alopecia is very painful, itchy and sensitive.  Yes when my hair starts to grow back it hurts, so I try to keep it shaved.  Right now I use peppermint oil to sooth the pain and it helps.
