Has anyone experienced headaches with this? I have been having headaches the past few weeks. The doctor suggested it was tension and I do find relief with ibuprofen, but the headaches return when I stop taking the meds.

I don't think my headaches are a result of AA directly, but probably the stress associated with it. Anyone else?

Wel i do get headaches & its usually stress during work, lack of sleep & wen i wear wig out in the heat!
I'm glad you brought this topic up. I was actually planning on writing about frequent headaches myself. I have been experiencing awful migrains for a while now. The one I currently have has lasted 5 days now. I've attributed them to stress from work, combined with the direct pressure on my scalp from the vacuum wig I wear daily. My MD prescribed a combination of medication: a muscle relaxant, abortive migrain medication, and a low dose antidepressant. I have gotten no relief, and I am unable to take the abortive medication at work because I am "out of commision" for a good two hours after taking it (not a good idea for a nurse!!!). Just to let you know, if you continue taking ibuprofen on a regular basis, you may end up getting "rebound" headaches that can be impossible to get rid of. This most likely has not helped at all, but, at least you know you are not alone.
yeah, i don't like taking ibuprofen all of the time am i hope i dont' get rebound headaches! when i first went to the doctor, she put me on a muscle relaxer and ibuprofen for 5 days. that helped and then gradually they returned. i have another appointment in a couple of weeks. i'm pretty sure mine are tension, so i just need to figure out how to relax/stretch and what not. i'm using a lot of heat , self massage and acupuncture right now and have laid off the topical meds for my hair for the past few days to see if that helps.

headaches, bleh. as if i need one more thing to feel bad about!
I hear you there!!! Keep up with the relaxation stuff. That can do wonders for tension. Moist heat is really good for stiff muscles, too. I just went to the Dr's today. Prescribed new meds and an appointment with a neurologist. I'd be happy if I only got one headache a week instead of 5 to 7!!!!! Oh yeah, another thing you can do before going back to the Dr's is to keep a headache journal. This way you can get a better idea of what might be triggering the headaches. Just a suggestion. Hope you get some relief...................
