I'm trying to decide about ordering a product from Hip Hats. http://www.hatswithhair.com/
I basically want something I could use that would be cooler than my wig for walking in the heat and/or hanging out by the pool and something I could have lying around in case the doorbell rings.

Options I think are the ponysport, which you can wear with any hat- but is that going to be hot? or the scarfabulous, but is that conspicuous? I dont see a lot of scarf wearing in general, except for me at home!

They have a ponymode with a built in hat, but the hat doesnt seem totally realistic and its in sort of odd colors for me. I could have maybe gone with a dark brown or black.

Does anyone have any experience/advice on this? I'm having a hard time finding first hand experience.

TIA!

Aimee,
What kind of hair did you get with it? The HH or the AFH? Straight/wavy? I'm looking foward to hearing what you think of it! I actually started to lean towards the scarf as possibly being the most comfortable.
Aimee, I got some color samples in the mail but thank you for the offer! Did you get the regular fabric or the swim fabric? Also let me know what you think of the AFH, it its itchy or tangle-prone or anything. Have fun at the water park!
Hey there. I've actually bought several products from them. The first one I got was the underhair. Then I tried the scarfabulous. Then I got the pony mode. My last purchase was the ponysport. I've got mixed emotions about them. The idea of each of these products is exellent. The actual products are, in my opinion at least, a little "iffy." The scarfabulous I sent back immediately. I got a plain black one thinking black would go with anything. When it arrived, the scarf was soooo big, I felt like a nun!!!!! (and I'm used to scarves because I wear a lot of bandannas) I ordered both ponytails for the same reason you mentioned - quick and easy, keep it by the front door in case the doorbell rings. I got a solid khaki colored ponysport. I love the feel of it because it's a real lightweight summer-type hat (kind of like a running hat or a golfing hat). However, it just doesn't lay right in the front. Has a bump or ridge line where the hair is sewn to it. Makes me a little self conscious. The other ponytail that you could wear with any hat didn't work quite right either. You know how there's the little hole in the back of caps where you pull the pony through? Well, you could always see the seam of where the fabric met the hair (and it's about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch seam) showing through that hole, so it was obvious something was going on. Plus, all of the products squeeze my head a little too much. When I take them off, I have big red marks where they were on and so they kind of give me a headache. (And, no, I don't have a huge melon head!! I'm 5'7'' and 126 pounds!!!! LOL) Anyway, I don't want to knock the products because, like I said, the idea is fabulous and they're pretty unique. Just be careful because, as hard as they tried, they just didn't live up to my expectations and hopes. (By the way, I always get the human hair. It doesn't tangle as much or as easily)
So Aimee, did you wear it out or no? Im a little confused by the part where you said you didnt try it out. So it sounds like the bangs were a bust, did you experience the scarf being huge like was mentioned? I can definately see the nun risk. Its such a good idea I'm frustrated it doesnt have better reviews! I would love something comfortable also b/c I will be in the hospital for a while after a c section in a few months and I am not really loving the idea of no hair, never knowing who could walk in, but its have to be super comfortable.

Thanks for posting back, Ive been waiting to hear how it went!
Ok Thanks for the follow up Aimee!
Ok, so I got my scarfabulous today and I actually think its adorable. I got the curly human hair, which is a very soft with a nice soft, non frizzy wave. My freedom wave wig on order is 12 inch as is this, so Im not going to cut it, thought it 2 inches longer than my current wig.

Its a black top. I agree, I dont know what to do with the bangs, sideburns right now, but I'm just hanging out at the house right now and it looks pretty glam compared to my faded bandanas. My kids are impressed.

Its comfortable, not AS comfortable as a plain bandana but close. Definitely more comfortable than my wig, which really isnt bad but when I had my own hair, at home, I usually had it in a pony tail away from my face and this gives that feel.

Its better than I expected.
