Hi,

First off, this s my first post=) Here's my situation.. I have had AA since I was ten years old and I am now 24. In the past few months I have been taking a fat burner. I am a professional dancer and also concerned about my weight and physical being. I notices since I was taking it my AA got extremely bad. I stopped about three weeks ago thinking the two were related. I did my research and found that hair loss can be caused my hormonal imbalance which fat burner do. I think I screwed up my hormones and immune system. Has anyone done this or know how to get my hormones back to regular. I also noticed my menstrual cycle has been off, probably do to the fat burner pills. I am now taking bioten, a b12 and woman's multi vitamin. I eat a balanced diet high in protein. From all of this I am PRETTY SURE AA is "triggered" by hormones and not just stress. Any input would be great.

Thanks, katie

Hi Katie, yes you are right about hormones causing hair loss, I stopped my birth control pill (Yasmin) and that's when my hair started to fall out. Some doctors agree hormone imbalance causes hair loss, some don't but I can guarantee it does! Good diet & good vitamins apart from that there's not much you can do apart from wait it out. Bad news is hormones take a while to correct themselfs, good news is they normally do given time. You could try taking evening primrose oil capsules. Good luck :)

Thank you for your response. I have been reading up on here and doing some research. A lot of people are saying garlic may work by either killing a fungi or tricking the white cells. I may give it a try. I moved to California 1.5 years ago so I need to find a dermatologist in this area maybe to do a blood test. It's been so long since I 've had this much hair loss. THANKS again for your response

Hi Katie,
I totally agree with you too. I lost all my hair about a year ago and thought it completely due to stress. After visiting a naturopath who suggested I start taking vitamins with a range of B vitamins my hair has finally started to regrow as a babies hair would. B vitamins help lower stress levels and are good for immune system health. The naturopath lady that I went too also pointed out to me how necessary it is to take added vitamin supplements, not just for my hair but for general health, because in today's world our foods and soils do not have all the vitamins and minerals like they used to. Unfortunately it is a slow process but definitely worth it if it brings hair back and through natural remedies :)
