I just got a set from blinkies and got glue stuck on them. I kind of ripped one trying to get the old glue off. What is the best way to clean them? Help! Thanks!

Lashes are fragile. But the more you use them the more you get down a strategy for handling them.

The glue for fake lashes is very much like "rubber cement" from art class. I don't know that brand exactly ......intrigued by promotional hype of how "revolutionary" it was, I wrote them for a sample and they explicitly refused to send me even one strip to look at. But with regular lashes that cost a fraction of the cost and doing your own liner you just gently roll the glue off into a little ball with your finger tip. To keep glue only where you want it, put some glue onto a disposable and dip a toothpick into it until you get a feel for how much glue you need.

Hi Margarita

I've never had great success washing lashes. The little success I have had occurred if the lashes are well constructed, like blinkies are, you are very gentle, AND the glue is not extensively on the hair of the lash. However, the best bet is to keep practicing with good glue application. If the glue stays on the strip portion of the lash it will pull off nicely when you remove them at night.

Another tip, pull the glue off right after you remove your lashes. Don't wait until the next morning. It hardens more and will be more strongly adhered to the lash making it rip.

I just wanted to share with you that I have just started using a glue that is absolutely outstanding. It is fast to adhere, about 5-6 seconds rather than 15-20 it seems I have found with other glues. It has NO smell (I HATE the smell of duo) and best of all, and what I thought you might want to know, is that when it comes to pulling the glue off your lashes it comes of very nicely. It is thick and nearly pulls off in one big strip. (That is, of course, as long as it's stuck to the strip and not the actual hairs themselves!).

I bought it from a company call Shu uemura at Norstroms but you can also find it online, etc. I like blinkies for a natural everyday look!! I use shu uemura smokey layers for a fabulous evening look. Their lashes are about as expensive as blinkies but are constructed very well!
Keep practicing! :-)

Sounds great! Thanks Alicia, I will look for this product at Nordies =)
Hi Alicia I read what you said something about glue! It got no smells? I've been using the glue for 3 years but it's got the smell n I hated it! But love wearing them.what kind of product is it and the name of it? Where do you go buy it at the store or online? I live in a small community town, in Canada. Be great if I can find the same kind as you got with no smell :D
This is brilliant, Susan! Thanks! I'm going to the store right now to get one of those pump bottles! Do you use bottom lashes as well?
Susan, thanks for posting this. I started doing this a few weeks ago and it makes a HUGE difference to pull off the glue while wet with alcohol. I thought leaving them overnight to dry would be better but its way better to take off the glue while its wet. They are dry seconds later.

Also, I found lots of cheap human hair eyelashes on ebay- 10 pairs for 5 dollars, etc. They are not bad at all! except I havent found the perfect pair- some are too long, some are too short, anyway, ifI find the right set, it will save me a ton! I really recommend looking at these.
Human hair eyelash!! Wow I never knew! I will have to check those out.
In the meantime, I've purchased the Shu uemura from Sephora and I will let you ladies know how it works.
I'm so bad at putting eyelashes on!
Great tip! Going to try this myself. Same here.....CVS has the lashes at a big savings this week.

I also thicken up the base with gel liner at and below the lid edge where lashes grow out from..It completely darkens the edge of the lid so there's no telltale white where lashes are missing.

Hi Margarita,
I have some Blinkies, too and just love them! The instructions they sent along with the lashes clearly state that after removing them to let the lashes set overnight in the tray thing they come in and in the mornign to gently roll the glue off from the back of the lash with your finger. I've had mine for over a month and wear them daily. Didn't you get the instructions that come with them? I hope this helps you?
