I was wondering is anyone has ever felt pushed into finding work before they feel ready and how did they deal with it ? Also is there help available in helping people with over coming the metal issues of finding work whilst dealing with depression, anxiety etcetera.

I ask because I recently started claiming job seekers after using up my emergency money trying to deal with my alopecia , I was fine for a while even found a part time job but as the pressure mounted I couldn't hack it I crumbled into a dark place of anxiety and depression , I wouldn't go out or look in mirrors I was very down. I'm slowly getting better and seeing a therapist and trying my hardest to look for a part time job so I can get off job seekers. But there making me feel so stressed and pressured into finding any job ! I feel like I'm letting them and everyone I know down and stupid for wanting everything to JUST WAIT A MOMENT ! they want me to do job finding with large groups of people I don't know and don't understand my alopecia and that terrifies me.

I want to work I really do ! But is there anything that can help me find a job with more understanding of what I'm dealing with that can help me money wise. I feel at the moment I'm being placed with people who are finding hard to get jobs for totally different reasons than me.

Thanks you guys your advise always puts me in a better place.

Hi, Emmily! I am new to this site. But I know EXACTLY how you feel. I have been dealing with Alopecia for 15 years. I am also dealing with anxiety and depression. I have my meds and dosages figured out right now, so things are good there. I have worked for a GREAT company (cubicle work) for over a decade. Last year, I moved up the ladder from a small local office to our Corporate office. It's awesome here, but there are so many new faces and I am suddenly WAY out of my comfort zone. I started here in June of 2012, and JUST TODAY, I confided in my two bosses about my AA struggles. They were SO FREAKING awesome and supportive about it. I didn't get weepy until I saw they were being so great. It was such a relief!
The industry I work in has NOTHING to do with hair, so to find such understanding people was a relief. I guess you just take your chances when starting a new job....you never know how you will like your boss, or your team members, or if the food down in the cafeteria will be any good :-) You just breathe and go easy on yourself. There are lots of jobs where you don't have to work face to face with a lot of people - my BFF works with health insurance over the phone and works from HOME. There are so many options out there. But even if you work in a big office building, there will be people who have a heart and will be understanding and supportive. We all have our own crosses to bear - when I hear about someone else's issues, I still focus more on my issues. And they will do the same..."Jane Doe wears a wig? Wow! That's weird....it looks great on her though. Hey, did you hear my daughter wrecked my car last weekend? Gonna cost me a ton of money.....".
Your fears are natural and valid. But when the timing is right, you'll know it and things will work out exactly how they are supposed to.
Good luck and keep us informed! MA
