I considered myself a healthy 66 years young person. When I noticed my front and temples hairline residing and told my doctor, he ordered a visit to an endocrinologist to check my thyroid. The endocrinologists found no problems with my hormonal system and send me to a dermatologist.
After more blood test and a scalp biopsy, they did not find the cause of my hair loss. In other words I felt like a thirsty person abandoned in the middle of the desert.
Living in Central Florida, with our wonderful humid and hot climate, using wigs is really a torture.
Fortunately, I lost top and temples hair line, but still have healthy, shiny hair at the back. To give you and idea, when I look myself at the mirror, I see a clown with a big bald head and lots of hair at the back. I love clowns, but not this morning one. I wished to find a way to look better.
I found the way to look and feel better. I removed the top and sides of one of my wigs. Went to the supermarket and bought a simple plastic headband. I sew the headband to the cut wig and Eureka!! When I put the head band I found Mavia in the mirror, the one I missed soo much. I am attaching a photo without the headband and with the headband. If any of you would like to learn how to make a head band toupee (that is how I named it) I will be very happy to share with you how to make one yourself.
Maybe one day I will be brave enough to show others my baldness, in the mean time I will be very happy if my idea serve to anyone to make them feel better

That was a brilliant idea. I wear wigs and I could just imagine how uncomfortable it would be to wear one in the boiling hot heat. I too wear head wraps as a partial head covering once in a while and find it extremely comfortable as well. You are so lucky to still have hair in the back- count your blessings! I got my head wraps online actually at MyHeadcoverings.com, it's easier than going out an buying one:) The one I'm wearing today actually is the Stretchy Cotton Solid Wide Headwrap (13 Colors!), I love it since it's really wide so provides lots of coverage.
