Brian, these symptoms could be unrelated to your hair loss and could be one or more other medical problems however whatever the cause/s you need an accurate diagnosis. I don't think you should compare your symptoms to other folk on this site because we all have different medical and heritable health strengths and weaknesses. I suggest you return to your doctor and insist they run blood tests to test for lupus (some of lupus symptoms can be similar to alopecia )and find out what is going on with your health. Alopecia (regardless which type you have ) should not give you these other symptoms.

Wishing you good health and good luck in finding an explanation.

Have you had your hemoglobin and ferritin iron levels checked?  Have you had biopsy for celiac?   Tooth decay and fatigue are symptoms of anemia and anemia and alopecia coild be related to celiac or lupus. Grt your blood tested.  Good luck! don't give up!

Tuesday, this is a male we are talking about.  Iron levels don't apply.

I wanted to chime in here, I've long thought alopecia is related to thyroid disease and not stress, or hereditary as commonly thought. Further more, there is a direct link between Thyroid disease, Alopecia and Celiac disease. I had never heard of Celiac until recently. I have suffered from fatigue since I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and Alopecia, first I was told the thyroid meds would solve it, it never did and then I was just told I'm getting old etc etc. no one ever looked at Celiac. I have found studies showing a direct link to Celiac and Alopecia, and once the Celiac is solved MOST, but not ALL people's alopecia cleared up. I just discussed this all with my doctor yesterday and we did the blood work, I'm waiting the results... I have been on a heavy whole gain diet during the entire time as I've had alopecia, never once thought it may be part of the problem. Everything you described is a symptom of Celiac Disease, a simple blood test at your regular doctor is all that's needed to find out more. Many people have mentioned going gluten free, and regaining hair, but rarely is it mentioned if that person was diagnosed with Celiac or if they were taking a stab in the dark. I would also have your thyroid checked while your at it. What I'm not so clear about is which of these three is a cause and which is a symptom. My doctor also tested for iron, vitamin B's and D's, which are deficiencies in people with Celiac Disease. Feel free to add me as a friend on here, I'd love to share with you my experiences, and also learn about yours, unfortunately my doc cant see me again for a week and a 1/2 so I wont have my result until then. Good luck!!

Alopecia is the main reasons for hair and eyebrow loss but surgical procedure available your hair looking as a natural.
