hi...today i bought a pack of individual eyelashes because i thought it would be more realistic. but, with these you have to attach them to the eyelash hairs you do have. although having alopecia, i do have some eyelashes, and i put the individual ones on. they looked great and very realistic, but after taking them off, some of my actual eyelashes got ripped off.

my question is what is the best bet for me? should i continue to wear the individual eyelashes (it would only be for special occasions, like my prom coming up) or should i just wear the strip? i want whatever will make my eyelashes not get ripped off, if that makes any sense.

also, any tips you guys have about applying them with alopecia. i just want to save what little i do have.

The strips are better...go to my page and I wrote up a whole tutorial about it. ; )
Agree agree with Lee. Alopecians can't wear the individuals-they are meant as enhancements-sort of like super mascara-but will pull your bio ones out.
I hate to say this but either will rip you eyelashes out w/ the glue. I use to have long, dark eyelashes and they fell out. I tried both, the individual and the strip, and they would pull my lashes out. As long as my lashes grew they would grow back but eventually got to where the gaps never filled. I don't mean to be depressing but now when I wear makeup (and that's not often but of course I'm much older than you) I usually just do a liner and some smudging that make me appear to have lashes. Have a great time at your prom. I remember mine just like it was yesterday (and that was >35 years ago).
I agree @knitty I lost my eyelashe putting on fake ones. BUT if I were to choose which ones were best, I would say go with the strip because they are not actually attached to the lash. The singles will rip reach eyelash from the root. It took awhile for me grow the back. I actually began to have alopecia on my right eyelash for a year I just penciled it in. It grew back.
