i'm not an expert, but i know people who have fully regrown their hair, but not many.  it seems to me that the hair has a mind of its own.  i lost my hair really quickly as well.  less than a month.  there are things that you can try and you should, but don't get your hopes up. i used medications and injections.  i was not interested in taking oral steroids, because they can cause a lot of other health issues.  for me, i finally got my life back when i got a great wig.  good luck!

I think treatable is the word that could be used for aa...but at this time there is no cure.

Some treatments do work for some people but there doesn't seem to be much explanation as to why things work or why they don't.  

In my daughters case she goes into natural remission on a regular basis....without medications etc. Natural remission is why it is so difficult to know if something is actually working or not.

I don't suppose my comments are helping overly, but keep hopeful, there does seem to be a lot more research and studies going on at the moment.
