Dear All,

Please can you advise me....

My Mom has found out from one of her friends about this wig that can be stuck on to a bald head, and apparently you wear it as if it is normal hair for a few months.

Have any of you tried it?

Would you recommend it?

Please let me know if you have any experience with it, or what you think. I would really appreciate it.

I have not had hair since I was 8, I am now 25. I don't want to rush into anything.

Thanks everyone.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Aidel

Hey Tanya,

Thanks for your reply.
I don't like wearing a wig all together.
I will definitely check out the freedom wigs discussion, thanks for the pointers, really appreciate them..
Is this wig anything like a Lacefront Wig??
Hi

The wig your mum has found for you... sounds like a lace hairpiece of some type. There are many around, I'm sure that somebody will come along with what they feel about this type of hairpiece - many find them very helpful.

Freedom Wigs - I can help you with. My daughter has been wearing them for the last 8 years. Pop into my page and you can see her and a couple of my friends wearing them.

You know if you are very comfy with out wearing anything I would also not rush into wearing a hairpiece. If you are thinking about using a hairpiece as an alternative look, just take your time and work out what you may require from a hairpiece, your personally wants and needs. Then talk to someone that understands and can help with the hairpiece you feel may fit the bill.

Good luck with your investigations.

If the Freedom Wig is anything like the Lace front, I would say be careful about the type of glue you select. Some wig glue can really irritate your skin and case a rash on your scalp. But as far as a good quality wig, if you get a human hair one, it should last a very long time. Some people sleep in theirs, but if you want to take it off, you just get a glue remover spray and the glue will peel off with no problem. That's what I know about the Lace fronts. I hope that this helps.
Yes, I have one of those "wigs stuck to my head" and it works for me!
Hey,

Can I please get some more information about it from you.

Thanks
Sounds great, but my problem is all the heat that wants to escape from my scalp. I can't wear wigs because of the warmth and sweat. I hope they work for you. If you decide you want to try the bald look, I think women have the same rights as guys to be cool and comfortable. There are plenty of photos of women who do here on AW, and Miss Delaware has appeared on national TV bald.
Thanks for your advice.
I also get really hot and sweaty under wigs, and prefer the natural look.
I wear hats and caps most of the time, but prefer to be natural, only problem is that I am a bit shy about it.
I was terribly shy about being bald in public. For a while I kept a record of "firsts": first time to the gym, first time to the grocery store, to the mailbox, etc....than I stopped caring and now it's just me. It's who I am, and I only have a scarf or knit cap on my head when I'm chilly, or a sunhat when I'm in full sun. It just takes baby steps, a little at a time.
Thanks Mary,

I will take inspiration from what you say.
And may i add, all of you are so beautiful!! I'm not there yet, but boy it's nice have you all.
You go girl Angie!!!!
You will get there.
