My twin girls just cut off several 10 inch braids of hair and wanted to donate it to Locks of Love and I am wondering if this is the best place to send it or is there a better place for it to be used? I read how some people think that is a scam and I would just like their hair to go to the best place so it can be used in the best way.

Hi

I don't believe locks of love is a scam. What makes you think that? That's sad really. :(

I work for Freedom Wigs in New Zealand and we are happy to receive hair from donators. We always pay and then the donator can decide on which charity they would like to help or to keep the money themselves.

There is another charity that helps with hair donation. It's in Australia and is called Tresses for Princesses. If you go to the Princess Charlotte Alopecia Foundation site. You will see all the information there.

I think it's lovely that your little girls are donating their hair. My daughter has just received a hairpiece and we were lucky enough to be able to track the people that donated the hair to her. One was a little five year old girl. I rang her the other night to thank her. It was lovely for her, my dauhter and myself. I will put a picture on soon of my daughter in that hairpiece.
