I went into my dermatologist...he took one look at my dimed sized spot on the back of my head called it alopecia gave me a prescription for an ointment and told me its unpredictable and see you in six weeks so we can see how the ointment worked. I felt upset and not at all better like I thought I would after seeing a doctor. I think and hope that it will just be one spot and it will grow back.

I am fairly certain an anti-fungal pill I took three weeks ago is the culprit. Flucanazole causes hair loss in some and I took it not too long before the spot first appeared.

I switched to organic shampoos and am trying not to comb my hair or blow dry it too much. I'm just trying to do everything possible to help with the -regrowth of hair in this spot and to avoid making it bigger or causing anymore to appear. Please help me with any advice you have. I'm so scared and feel the only resource and comfort I have is the internet.

Hi Karissa,

Try and not stress too much about the spot. I know it's very difficult. Mine started with a dime sized patch too. You might want to get a 2nd opinion.
Did you have any lab work done?

You will find lots of help and support here.
