Liner caps
1) Is there a cap liner for children (or those of us with very small heads)?
2) Also, are there advantages to using the various types such as nylon, cotton, gel?
3) Will the wig stay put, even during exercise, or do you still need to glue or clip the wig down?
I am trying to grow my hair out but it is coming in thick and curly and is causing my wig to lift in the front. Liners I have found are "one size fits all" and go beyond my hairline or are too loose when I push them back to hide under the wig. Also, I don't know if there is a concern about the outer edge of the liner causing hair loss.

I use the nylon variety, one size fits all - NOT! What I do is line up the edge with my hairline on my forehead, then whatever excess cap is left at the top, I tuck it into itself so there's no bulk. I like the nylon because it's thin and barely detectable by me when I wear it. I cannot even imagine what the cotton feels like - bulky and might move too much. I do not need to use tape or glue, and I exercise/run in my wigs all the time. There will be some slippage throughout the course of the day, but you just have to adjust every once in a while if needed. The main reason I wear the caps is because the wigs are too itchy without them and I think they prevent excess slippage.
As far as causing hair loss, I don't know. I'd be more inclined to think it would be a too-tight wig that would cause that, not the cap. Hope this helps!

Any of the online wig sites. They come in a variety of colors (neutral, lt & dk brown, black) to match your hair color as close as possible. I use brandnamewigs.com, wigsalon.com mostly.

I had my first one "cut to size" and what I wear now was custom-made. It is human hair and the cap is nice and light but since it was made when I didn't have much hair of my own, it is now "lifting"as my hair starts to fill in. I have been razoring it down so the wig fits but want to see what happens if I let it grow, hence the need for a tight-fitting wig liner that won't compromise the hair underneath.
As it is, I clip the wig on at the top and my temples and have hair loss because of them in those areas. Sometimes I think it would be better to lose all of one's hair. The spotted look is quite unflattering and what does grow on the head pretty much gets in the way. Even though mine is filling in it occurs to me that I am in remission and have no idea what the future will hold.
Aimee, I did buy a synthetic wig a while back and the seller was able to take it in to fit me.

Yes, I also have a small head....and find it so hard to find small size wigs that don't look like something for an older great grandmother person and grey....I imagine someone can take in regular wigs...but at what cost????

Thanks so much !! I am familiar with the Revlon's that offer the option of adjusting the wefts, just that so often is the case, the one wig I really like does not offer than option, nor come in a small/petite size...or then the color is wrong...it is always something, isn't it?

When I bought my first human hair wig from Erica at iwig she had a seamstress cut it to size (and she had to take a lot off). It was fascinating watching her do it, much more intricate than you would think, so probably best to go to someone like that if you aren't going to buy a custom fitted wig.
Thanks for the liner suggestion. I am now going to look into Hugo Royer.
