Los Angeles derma's?

hi i have had AA for about 4 years..really want to get into a doctor regarding treatments/wig options..i have had HORRIBLE experiences so far (very crude/rude)..does anyone know of a super awesome Dermatologist in the LOS Angeles area? thanks

Hello,

I live in Los Angeles and see Dr. Richard Strick and feel he is incredibly knowledgable about alopecia. As for wigs, that is is not his area! I have had to figure that out by poking around online a bit. I have been wearing wigs for nearly one year now (yikes!).

I think they work. I am not sure what to think about them. He creates an allergic reaction to this chemical called DNCB. You apply it nightly or every other night (he adjusts everything). I had a great reaction, grew back a lot of hair, but then stopped doing the treatment for 6 weeks (lazy!) and it ALL fell out again. So I am back to the beginning. I really like him, I feel like he really understands it all and seems to be a good guy.

If there are support groups in LA let me know!

As for wigs, I've been going to Wilshire Wigs and Silhouette for over 20 years in North Hollywood, I have AU. They have a huge selection. They have a website also just use your browser.
