Hi, I am new here and am on the hunt for the perfect wig. Does anyone know anything (good or bad) about Matt Yeandle? Are the wigs well made and good quality? Does he do natural looking blondes? I am in such a difficult situation because I work in the fire service and sometimes have to wear safety gear, Haz-mat suits, respirators, etc., and I need to find a wig that can survive this yet still look good. His photos look great but don't they all? Does anyone know about a return policy?

Any advice from others who are in public safety and dealing with alopecia would be great!

Wow these really do look the same! So these are Gemtress wigs that Matt sells? For some reason I thought he made them himself. What color did you get and do you know if the blondes are natural looking?
Where do you see gemstress? I see wigs by pierre? But yea they look the same i noticed he wrote same things when i ordered so i figured it out lol so im happy to save over $200 i got a golden brown but they lift amazingly well the blondes look pretty good but what i love is the cap construction its so comfortable and grips your head no glue no tape! I seen the gripper and tried it on and i liked this better much more natural and like 3x cheaper lol

On Loris Wigsite, click on the YouTube link next to Fire wig pictures. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0n3k35jnVU&feature=player_embedded I also went to Gemtress website and it is the same. It looks like some hair replacement salons sell Gemstress? It has a salo locator. Miss Delaware appears to be the spokesperson.

Is the cap stretchy? I ask because I am between sizes, and have a small head. The petite is a 19", but if it has a lot of stretch it might be O.K.? Since you are a stylist, what is the best way to go about finding a good wig stylist? I have yet to find a good one, and live in Las Vegas so they have to out there! Should I just start calling around? I would love to find someone good with coloring, adding highlights and roots if needed. Thanks for all your help!

Oo ok interesting and i seen it was voted best hair replacment of 2011! yes i thought he made them but he probaly just works with them and sells! Yes the cap is stretchy mine was actually a little to big i am a small head i think i got a medium stock wig. And yea if i were you id probaly checkout yelp and see whats the best salons in the area and call them and see who has experience with wig cutting. But if ur a great stylist u should be able to cut a wig you just have to do it a little different! And your welcome happy to help!

I bought the Gemtress wig from a distributor/vendor in Canada. He did a special order that was not small or medium, but an in between measurement-since I have a smallish head but not super small. That added $100 to the price but was worth it to me.

Hi Cathy,
What color did you get and what is your opinion of the wig? Would you recommend?

Thanks,

Laura

I think the color was E 12. It had about 3 shades of blond-but no distinctive highlights. I think their blond shades are all at least two colors blended. The wig I bought was the one that has Asian hair, so eventually the blond color changed and became a bit yellow. Also, the hair eventually became dried out, but after many months

the cap did not have a hidden knots or "silk top" part area-that is now available in their EHH versions. Otherwise the cap is fantastic-I always felt so secure in it. I wear really short hair now, so these Gemtress are longer than I need, so not sure if I will buy another-but I would say they are a well made wig.

If I was going to buy such a well made cap again, I would go up in price and get the EHH

Bizzo i posted some pictures on a topic i started "update on my gemstress wig"

Hello All, I am new to Alopecia World.  I was first diagnosed with Alopecia Areata in 2009.  I had have patches of bare skin occasionally and had steroid injections to take care of them.  That always work.  This past November I had one patch that was very small.  Again, I had it injected but, unfortunately my entire head began to diffuses and I have enough hair loss that I need a wig.  I went to several places in New York and did not find what I was looking for.  I contacted Matt Yeandle and made an appointment.  I went to see Matt last Thursday and walked out with the most amazing wig.  It is lightweight and you cannot tell it is a wig.  I am so happy with my hair. If you need a wig Matt is the person to see!!!

Tell me more, I have emailed with him years ago and he seemed really helpful and caring.  Lucky you.  What color is your hair? Did you get the wig in the same color as your bio hair?  What kind of cap does it have?  How much?  I have so many questions!!

Hi Travelgal, I've been trying to contact Matt but his email keeps bouncing back. Do you happen to have current contact information for him? And, do you mind sharing which type of wig you ended up buying (cap and hair)? Looking at buying another wig, and Matt's products seems great.
