I just looked through some online choices, but since I go to real shops to try on synthetic wigs, I'd like to know ahead of time if any of you have opinions about the coverage and tie-on quality of these wigs:

Noriko: Carrie
Gabor: Invitation
Dream USA: Crystal
Estetica: Michelle
Aspen: Malibu
LL Britany: Look of Love
Louis Ferre: Michelle
Henry Margu: Savannah, Danielle, or Glamour
Raquel Welch: Salsa, Tress

Also, do you know if any of these dulplicate the blond-with-brown-roots look I have been wearing in my shorter wig? Thanks.

Hi! I have tried tons of wigs and I am still not happy. I think that the shorter synthetic wigs last longer as opposed to the longer synthetic wigs. The longer wigs get tangled easier and need to be brushed more but the shorter ones do not get tangled as easy. As my husband explained the synthetic, it is just like barbie doll hair. Remember how shiny and pretty her hair was when you took her out of the box? It does not take long for the wigs to look like a rats nest. I have also sprung the money a few times for a human hair wig but they all seemed to shed just like my real hair did when it started coming out. I spent 300 bux on a wig that only lasted me a month because the hair fell out of it in clumps. I have spent a lot of money on wigs and I just would like to find one that will last at least a year instead of needing a new one every 2 months. I wear a wig daily and only take them off at night, I am tired of waisting money.
Janice, unfortunately, I have found when I wear them daily and only take them off at night, it doesn't take long for them to wear out. I have gotten so frustrated with all of mine and just feel like sometimes I just need a change. I have spent volumes of money on synthetic wigs. Because I do live in NC, human hair wigs are not an option because of the humidity. I have found Kathy at galleryofwigs.com to be so helpful. You can email her pictures and she will tell you what style and color would look good on you. I just ordered 2 monofilaments for the price I would pay for 1 synthetic wig that wasn't monofilament. Check out this website; I think you will be pleasently surprised.
My last 2 were Raquel Welch, and both had 2-3 tones, layers, thickness to cover, and looked quite natural.
TG, I have the Voltage and the Enchant in the RW. I bought the Enchant because it is heat resistant and I call this my "kitchen" wig. I bought the Boost also in the RW, but gave it to my sister because it was just too dark for me. It look really great on her.
TG, you would have thought with all the wigs that I own I would have had one of these, but I am sorry to report that I don't own any of the ones you mentioned above.
Hi, TG!
I don't have any of those that you have listed, but I do have Noriko Jade, which is a mid-length wig. It's very nice, little amount of permatease, and I get compliments on it all the time! I did have it trimmed slightly at my local salon..to take some length off the back and a little off the bangs.

Hope this helps!

Oops! here's the pic of Jade!

Karen, that looks gorgeous on you!
Thanks, Ktownana!! I appreciate the compliment! :)

I made a mistake on the brand, actually. It's an ROP, not Noriko.
I also want to mention that I had to do some doctoring to the cap on my Jade. My head circumference is 21-1/2" and I had quite a bit of excess at the nape of the wig. I cut through the vertical strips and removed 3 wefts. Sewed it back together and now it fits great! Btw, my Jade only cost me $46 including shipping from acewigs when they had it on closeout. If they still had that particular wig, I would buy it in a heartbeat, even with the alterations I had to do.

The Noriko brand wigs that I have, Reese & Claire, fit me just about perfectly...maybe just slightly on the big side, but not enough where I feel the need to alter them.

I have a Jaclyn Smith wig on it's way to me right now, and am anxious to give it a try! I've heard those are smaller caps. The price was amazing, only $52 including shipping. Has a mono front, and all her wigs seem to have received great reviews.

Hi Karen, I am in awe as how you can cut your wigs--I panic if I tend to trim my bangs. So far, I've never messed up yet, but wouldn't dare attempt to do what you do with yours. I've never tried a J Smith wig--did you order it from Paula Young? That is a steal for a mono front at $52. What style did you get? I tend to go with the shorter styles--I'm a lot older than you and the shorter styles just seem to work best with my age. Thanks for sharing! I do have the ROP Jamie and the Sierra--actually 2 in the Sierra--never worn either because when I got them they were longer than what I wanted. I have them for sale for $30 each on wigsupport.com.
Age-appropriateness is a good point. My fun, jazzy side has to be compromised with job-hunting for teaching jobs, which requires a more conservative look. I like the blond with dark roots, to go with white sideburns but dark brows and eyelashes...but wonder if that coloring off-puts older interviewers (dark roots with blond hair were considered to signify Trampy or Trailer Trash back in the '60s...like someone's wanting to be a blond but too poor to get roots done weekly).

How do you know condition and wear on wigsupport.com? I kind of liked the Sierra, but don't know if it would be long enough for me.
TG, I still love the fun, jazzy wigs and I'm a lot older than you. I've always loved dark roots on wigs because I think that makes them look more realistic. I'm not really sure how to tell the condition and wear on wigsupport.com. I apologize for being so late replying; I am still trying to learn the ropes of this website. The Sierra is shorter on the sides, but longer in the back if this little info helps any. I also have the Megan in the Sunny Blonde by Noriko. It is a short style--real cute, but no curl at all and I just like a little curl. This has never been worn either. I would be willing to sell it for $30 as well.
