Hi, I am new to this site and suffer FPB. I am 52 and have been using 5% minox for 7 months. I seem to have a lot of about 1-1.5 length hair which stands straight up on my head. I am assuming it is new growth. I am interested in hearing about other peoples experiences with minox. I feel like it is working???

never heard of it? its working for you? where did u get? doctor perscribed?
I probably should have said rogain. Minoxidil is the active ingrediant in rogain. As for results,I believe I am having good ones if what I'm seeing is all from the treatment. As for getting it, it's avail. anywhere under the Rogaine brand or store brands which are much cheaper. I began with the liquid dropper form which was cheaper but caused exteme itching as well as dripping. I understand the itching was due to another ingrediant not found in the foam. The foam doesn't do either, very easy to use. I use it am and pm
Congrats on the new hair growth, keep us updated
Hey guys,
The thing about any of this stuff is it's all a temporary fix. Our bodies have to turn the condition off. Now we can help this by ensuring we are not using or eating something that does not agree with us. If we stop using these products the hair falls out.
give me some input on this thought.
I totally agree with Angie. Your body has to turn it off from the inside out. I have my son on moducare and alternating fish oil and primrose oil every 2 weeks, plus changing his die, this seemed to work because since then his hair is growing back in, he still has a ways to go but it is a start. I think if i use something like minoxidili now it will work i am currently looking into something to stimulate the hair folicles that aren't growing.
hello..

i hv been using this for bout a week am and pm from Kirkland Minoxidil 5%. i can really c the regrowth. Im a AT. So it's pretty amazing seeing regrowth.

But, the downside is the excessive shedding on my scalp which causes iritation. and i felt bit nausea after using it. Now im into my thhird week already. I have stopped temporarily on my 2nd week due to excessive shedding. And im now plan to continue using it to see if there is any more regrowth
Yes do continue as the shedding will stop within a week or two. As I said above, the off brand minox irritated my scalp much more than the foam rogain. I pay 46.00 for 3 month supply which when divided out isn't that much. I also would like to reply to Angie and having to apply this forever. I look at it like my taking vitamins or working out, etc..it becomes a part of your routine. I have had enough of a result to make it worth taking a couple of minutes 2xdaily and it stops further loss.
How long did you use before you show signs of growth.
amazingly only in a week time. seriously i think results vary for each individual but im not sure of complete regrowth. coz im just not disciplined enough to apply 2x per day as i wear my wig on a daily basis.

hence, i gotta wait for it dry completely b4 putting on my wig is pretty much a hassle=p
Yes Robin you are correct. 2xper day is nothing. I use rogaine also, I just want to make sure our sister knew if the product is stopped the hair will fall out.

Go to Rogaine.com and register. You girls will be able to print out a 10.00 coupon. I'm a CVS girl, so I'm always getting carebucks. Sometimes I end out paying 20.00 for the three month supple. :-)
Hey thanks for the coupon info.
