My story is more or less same to most Alopecian, it started in june 07 with a patch on head, by april 08 i had no hair on any part of my body( AU). Honestly, i was not ready to accept the hair loss but slowly i started to accept it. Now what is bothering me a lot is my 20 Nails they are so week and heavily pitted. Is anyone going thru such a situation, if so what is the remedy? I am in depression taking all sorts of pill. In fact i wonder at times first hair, then nails so what next? I am will to go to any extent for the treatment, but please don;t write about steriods as i already have enough of it. Currently, I am applying clobetasol on my nails so far no improvment. Any suggestion or any one under similar condition please shed some light. Thanks

Try Biotin. It's available at any drugstore.
I have no problems with my nails (knock wood) but my nails are stronger than ever.
I started with a 1 mg tablet and now take a 5mg tablet daily. Same price and 5 times stronger. Biotin supports the growth of skin, hair and nails as well as carbohydrate metabolism according to the label. Might help cant hurt.

biotin is good but I suggest you try to stay more in the sun. i almost lost all my nails and i got them all back in one week holidays in the sun. I think it is not just the sun, it is the relaxing atmosphere! and most important stop taking the pills...try yoga...It helped me so much than this year I also slowly getting my hair back...

There are many different ways to deal with situations...always try to find the positive one! It might be more difficult but it pays out in the long run!
I agree with you about getting some sunshine. At least 15 minutes a day. Sometimes we don't always have sunny days so I take yet another tablet....Vitimin D 2000 iu. I would really like to try yoga too......
try white iodine on your nails. I had read this so what the heck. you have to mix it with 3 parts olive oil. Put little mits and socks on at night so you don't get it on your sheets. Give it some time though. You get it at Walmart pharmacy.
