Hello Everyone.

I am so pleased to have found this site. My 9 year old first started to lose his hair about a year ago. It started with a small bald patch, which would grow every few days. We never know what "path" his hair loss will take. His hair does seem to grow back fast; in one year he has lost an entire area twice, only to have it grow back in. We are on our third "round" of hair loss. My concern this time around is that we recently moved and my son is somewhat concerned as to how is new class will react.
For the most part, my son has been dealing with this quite well. However, he will often tell me that I just don't understand how it feels; I would very much like for him to be able to talk to someone who has been through it.
Also, the thing that bothers him a lot is the intense itching which occurs in the area where he has just lost hair. Does anyone know what can help this?

Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello! I'm from Ottawa, Canada as well! My daughter, who is going to be turning 5 in May started losing her hair 2 years ago. She actually lost it all within 6 months though and has been AU since. I hope your son is coping well enough. It is hard. Whereabouts in Ottawa are you? My daughter so far is doing really well. She started kindergarten this year and loves it. I hope she continues to love school and that her classmates continue to treat her like she is no different. I'm going to send you a friend request and we can message eachother if you like.
