Hi everyone, i have alopecia areata, starting to became universal, with a few hair in the front and top of the head. So i need to buy a wig to feel better with myself (trying to accept the disease).

I saw online the Full Face wigs and i like it, is anyone using one of this? Where do you buy it? And how do you use it? i want to take her off at home, but i want to use without problem in the street with windy for exemple, i don´t know if the adhesive tape or hair grip works for what i want.

(sorry for the bad english, it´s not my mother language).

Sandra, so sorry you are losing your hair. Your question has been asked out here many times before.  You might read the prior discussions under the category

such as "1 year wig review"  "wig options"  "full lace wigs"  "HH wigs online help"  "endless pursuit of wigs"

you will find LOTS of input. best wishes to you!

I buy my wigs from fairy wigs.com. I buy the human hair ones so I can curl it and straighten it. Very good prices

There are a lot of videos on YouTube on how to wear lace front or whole lace wigs. This link is from a fellow alopecian, and she has some really great tips. https://youtu.be/0fSDxVRmVlM

Hope this helps!

You've come to the right place.  You will find a lot of help here.  This website has been a lifesaver for me.

First of all, say "At least I'm not.. .. "  basically count the blessings you are grateful for.

Then once you feel great about what is going well in your life, then you will have energy and courage to focus on what needs work (speaking from experience).

Take it a little at a time, with trial and error.

What I've tried:

- headbands

- wig stores $20 and up

- wig catalogs (my preference lately because I can order in the comfort of my own home)  $20 and up, good ones about $70

paula young wigs; a lot of youtubers recommend other wig houses, but I am not always sure I want to use my credit card at those places.  At paula young, you should send money orders--that works best for me.

- I want to try follea because of the grip (I want to run and have fun/fight the wind)--I'm thinking that's gonna cost a lot.

I've had AA since I was a kid.  It is all I know.  My hair was thicker, but I have to work to keep the hair I have healthy.

I am limited with styling choices, so I choose wigs.  I am great with creating styles, but have to work beyond what's in my control.

I wear synthetic in the summer and human hair or human hair blends in the winter.  Synthetic hair frays with scarves and sweaters, coats, etc.
