Normal progression?

Pardon my ignorance…another perhaps off the wall question. The hair loss started with my head, then took part of my eyebrows. I stepped out of the shower the other day and noticed that my chest looked different. At first I thought the water had matted the hair down but that theory didn’t hold water. Most of my chest hair is now gone with the exception of a single patch and a few strays hangers on. Also noticed that the back of my left hand is now missing a big circular patch. I realize that everyone is different, just wondering if there is a ‘normal’ progression from AA to AU?

Hi,
If I would have to summ up all the patches I had lost and regain I guess that would be 4 times average per body part. I dont take notice of my body parts appart from head since I dont mind if I have or not any hair on them nor I have ever used any treatment with other body parts. I had periods where I had like 20% of hair in total body and head and now I have like more the 90% which is a bit worse condition then few years ago when I had only one patch I think. After some odd treatment with some balm some 10 years ago I have regained all my hair on head and my hair was stronger and darker then before.

Djorde, what type of balm treatment did you try. I would love to know/try!

I think everyone is different, but it kind of happened that way for me too. I noticed slowly....in fact very very slowly. I didn't realize that I didn't have leg hair for about 2 months lol. I really don't think they can tell exactly what's gonna happen next with this condition though.

I kind of had the same thing but then it reversed. I got all my chest hair back. So far my face and beard are almost all returned. My head is hopefully coming back. This over 3-4 years , I dont know if there is a "normal".

I would like to ask a follow-up on normal progression. I began AA in February of 2008. Small patches on my head and beard. By July I looked horrible. I shaved off my hair and beard. In the last few months my eyebrows have become much thinner, the hair on my belly is almost gone and my arms are thin and patchy. But to add a wrinke, my hair is coming in lightly but white snow. Anyone with similar symptoms. I hate this!
