My 13 year old son was on Xeljanz for over a year with limited regrowth.  Our doctor would like him to try Olumiant next, however, it is very expensive (about $4,000/month from US pharmacy).  I found the price a bit cheaper on line pharmacy but I am skeptical.  Can anyone give me suggestions on 1.) if you have had any success with this medication and 2.) how to obtain it any cheaper.  Thank you very much

I have been taking Xeljanz for approximately 9 mos. to try and help my severely damaged nails from alopecia universalis.  I started to grow hair on my head and some eyebrows and then it all stopped.  I believe it was a shock to my system at first and then just got immune to it.  I feel like this is what would happen with any drug.

Contact the drug company, they may have an assistance program that you could apply to.  That is what I did with Xeljanz.  I am getting it at no charge and I do have health insurance.

Good luck.

I think today is a great day as the history was made, Olumiant (baricitinib) has been approved in US as the First tratment for alopecia areata.

I hope it arrives to Europe soon.

All the best.
