A friend of mine wants to buy me a wig under $100, because she has credit at Paula Young. Does anyone have experience with thickness or coverage for the following wigs? I have AT, and do not want bald to show through the cap. I also wear glasses, and need ear tabs that work.

Sheer Brilliance WhisperLite

Donna LaceFront

Phoebe WhisperLite

Glenn Wig

Ricki Wig

Breeze WhisperLite

Thanks for your help. Please tell me the quality of these wigs, and if the hairline is natural.

I advise you post this question on the www.wigsupport.com the ladies on this site are wig wearers and I am sure sine if them will have tried these wigs. Very nice of your friend to treat you. Good luck

I agree... join the wigsupport website.  There are many members, and I'm sure someone has tried one of those wigs.  I'm sorry that I can't help.  I haven't tried any of those.  Good luck!

Tallgirl...I have Donna in 14/88.  It looks like a cheap wig, shiny. That color seems to have a greenish cast in the house, but looks better outdoors.  Hard to explain the wefts.  Seems there is a lot of gap between each one.  But I surely wouldn't say your head would show through, but maybe in a stiff wind the wefts would blow and then ?? Maybe.  It's a cute style for around the house, or when you aren't really doing anything "important".  I wear glasses, and it is fine with them.  Can't say that I have worn it much anyway.  Yes, do ask on Wigsupport.  They all seem to have all the knowledge about most wigs.  But then, everyone has their own opinion, their own viewpoint, and their own needs out of a wig. We are surely not all the same.

This is why I prefer to try on wigs in salons...so I can see fit, shininess, sunlight outside, florescent lighting inside, coverage, ear tabs, hairline, etc.

I couldn't sign up on that other site.

The wig "hair" color I am thinking about is Pecan Delight. Maybe I should also get the dark head cap. I rely on any one synthetic wig for over a year, with close-up teaching, and many eyes staring at me.

Yeah, Aimee, but at least the box of chocolates are deliciously edible!!  Don't know why you couldn't sign up for an account at Wigsupport.com.  You sign up and wait for an email.  Then you are good to go.  Lots of helpful wig information and reviews and members post pictures.   Tallgirl, I am sure a color other than blonde won't be so shiny.  And yes, I know, the same wig is always different.  I have a few styles I ordered two of because at the time I liked them a lot and didn't want them  to be discontinued.  The QC is totally non-existent in the wig industry, as I had wigs that were supposedly  the same style, and the cut was totally different from one to the other. Problem often times was, I didn't know anything at all about wigs or wig buying, and I would try on the style and like it, then order another, put it up, assuming it was exactly the same.  By the time I got to wear it, of course, too late to return.  Then I am stuck with a wig that looks nothing like the first.  Donna is a cheaper wig that would serve the purpose when you didn't want to wear one of your better wigs, like to a gym, or something.

I chose the Phoebe. Pecan Delight color.

Tallgirl, looks good, but I prefer you in the more blonder tones.  This one has a reddish cast to it.  What do you think about the quality and fit?  Up to standards of a wig under $100.?  Or really, any wig.  Price is not always indicative of better quality.

My natural color is brunette, so anything different is an interesting change, as was the blond for awhile. This gift fits snugger than the stretched-out synthetic (not PY) I bought in January 2013. The fibers are a bit too shiny and fly-away with this Paula Young. I will have to work with it. At any rate, longer is fun. I prefer Raquel Welch for coverage and thickness.
