Hi, so my first post here, sorry if its in the wrogf section.

I've had alopecia arreata that started last October, the gp thought it was due to my low vitamin d (a big defiency due to working nights). Since about 6 weeks ago or so a good amount of bald spots have filled in, mainly at the back and one side, with smaller ones on my crown slowly going. This leaves one side that looks untouched, a massive missing patch nearly the size of my hand on my head and my beard being patchy.

My question is this. On the big patch on my head and the patches on my beard there is a mix of white hair and very short white hair "Peach Fuzz". Is this the start of regrowth on the worst affected areas? I've been applying topical vit d cream on the area in hopes it improves, and with all the other regrowth without new spots I don't know if I'm too optimistic about this fuzz being the start.

I hope this makes sense as I'm tired after one of them pesky night shifts.

Many thanks for any responses.

About a year ago I had been behind on vit-D I was supposed to be taking and before a physical I doubled-up.  I have AU and had been smooth for 2 years.  I started developing  peach fuzz for the first time and had a 2x2 section of hair that grew past that stage.  After checking with Dr, we kept up those double doses for a year.  Peach fuzz stayed peach fuzz for me, but definitely keep up the vit-D.  There is a correlation.  It may not grow hair, but you have to have it to keep growth.
